FCS STATS Poll, Nov 3 (Griz #2)

Well now, look here: 4. Lehigh (9-0) 1,183 [7]
Yeah, will sure they are, but when it all comes out in the wash, they will fall. It's equivalent to to Boise or JMU or a team like Liberty making it into the brackets. It's the week in, week out competition. It's the strength of the conference. It's the depth of the team overall. I think Lehigh has had a wonderful season, and kudos to them. You pointed out that that Lehigh beat Sacred Heart 28-10, and the Grizzlies only beat them 43-21. You fail to realize, I think, that Bobby went way into the depth chart in that game. Lehigh is in no way equivalent to a top 3 team in the BSC or or the MVFC. Sorry to burst your bubble, but although I'm happy for their program, it'll be a rough ride beyond two rounds

I think this season is shaping up to have a lot of 'upsets' in the playoffs as a lot of teams outside the Big Sky and the MVFC get high seeds. Then those teams will get beat by the also rans of those two conferences, similar to the Cats fluky path to the championship game in the 2021 season.

Oh I am not making any claims that Lehigh could beat the Bison but my hopes are a little bit higher that they may be able to.

Just my guess at what we might see if the bracket were out and the remaining schedule for each team.

A lot of football left, so much WILL Change before selection Sunday, no doubt.
I did take the liberty of seeding all the teams, so they aren't regionally matched for round 1.

This is right on the money.

The shaggy Buffs are defending champs and still the team to beat. In particular their QB has looked very impressive and dangerous at times. Yet this year's version is not one of the monolithic beasts of some previous Bison teams. They may win it all. Teams will have to pass through the Fargo barn. However, it is far from a foregone conclusion they are this year's champs. Keep the faith.
They are the juggernaut, until some team shows the world they were the juggernaut. GRIZ NC in January? If so, THEN they have to carry the title, like NDSU, with at least as much class as NDSU has done. There's a new Sheriff in town, and he's wearing a Silvertip furry coat. I hope.

It doesn’t make sense to me that South Dakota State is ranked lower than Montana State with the same record when South Dakota State won in Bozeman.

How long ago was that, two months ago when SDSU won in OT? Since then, the scats have won seven straight and SDSU got their ass handed to them in their big rivalry game at home and then at home again got doubled up on by a team that is losing badly to everyone they play, largely because SDSU kept turning the ball over.

The fact they are as high as they are in the rankings is lucky based on the ballots I have seen. Herder has them at 12, Dom Izzo agrees that they are 12, Zach McKinnell says they are 13 and whoever votes for Fear the FCS has them all the way down at 22. Those that explain why they have them where they do point to the margin in the NDSU game and the poor competition in ISU and they pretty much agree that if Mason comes back and they win, they will be back in the top 10. Injury is not an excuse though, Monmouth, among others, have had QB injury issues and still worked around it. I think they are where they belong for now, and it just goes to show that if you are going to lose, it's better to do it early.

Thanks for taking the time to put this up. Helpful quick reference chart.

The Bobcats have always been given an extra boost in the polls in my opinion. I remember 2 years ago when the Cats were somehow ranked #3 with an 8-3 record and they got boatraced at WaGriz 37-7 and lost their first playoff game to end the season on a 2 game losing streak.

There was also the year they were #1 (vastly overrated), got boatraced by the GRIZ, but the espn crew was already in Bozo to film "the one seed", and choate cried on national television while his team pouted behind him. That was not a great bub look.

I thought that was Ash?

Indiana State is an inexcusable loss even without your first string QB. Especially when the other top 10 teams have destroyed the sycamores. That’s the difference from week 2.
