FCS STATS Poll (Nov 24) - Griz Still in Top-10 (#7)

I grant that the seed is the most important information at this point. However -- since I have not seen it posted -- here's what STATS.com did in a "hurry-up" poll on Sunday morning. (Just for "completeness" here on eGriz.)

Rank, School (Record), Votes {First Place}, [Prev]
1 North Dakota State (12-0) 3800 ({152} [1]

23 North Carolina A&T (8-3) 419 [25]
24 North Dakota (7-4) 357 [NR]
25 Albany (8-4) 352 [NR]

Others: Southeastern Louisiana (346), Towson (266), Southern Illinois (179), San Diego (151), Alcorn State (61), Princeton (60), Eastern Washington (50), South Carolina State (32), Sam Houston State (28), UT Martin (24), New Hampshire (15), Holy Cross (3), UC Davis (2)

Remember early in this year, back around spring ball, the Cats and Griz were picked to finish in middle of the Big Sky, not at top.

The Griz started out of the top 25 in some polls before the season started.

We've come along way baby!

Some interesting points, comparing the pollsters opinions to the seedings and matchups.

These thoughts were triggered by the fact that South Dakota State, ranked #10, got a seed. From there, I noticed that #9 Central Arkansas also got a seed. So I had to ask myself: Who among the top-10 did not get a seed.

First, despite being ranked #6, Northern Iowa did not get a seed. Many on here thought they would (and I wasn't so sure myself).

Nor did Villanova, ranked #8. It's even more interesting that 'Nova was not willing to out-bid SE Louisiana for a first-round home game. Might be a weird story lurking there. Also kinda interesting that SELA didn't even make it into the top-25 ... but that's a different story. Of course, they'd be there if you bump Florida A&M (ineligible), and Dartmouth and Yale (too snooty to play with the plebeians in FCS).

The Ivies need to get back to studying and finals now, so they can go to top grad schools, get top jobs, make a lot of money, and make an impact on the world. 7 US presidents attended Harvard. 16 attended the Ivies. 26 were lawyers. "Princeton has produced 209 Rhodes Scholars, 65 Nobel laureates, two U.S. presidents, and more billionaires and foreign heads of state than most universities can ever dream of." And, of course, to advance their snootiness.

If they play in any NCAA tournament I don’t buy that. Why are they just stopping football?

In a 3-way tie for third in the BSC is "at top"?
