Well, I nailed the ranking for the Griz ... but missed on the kitties. They dropped to just out of the top-25.

Was in Normal for a not-as-rainy game between the ISU's Saturday. We can't beat the blue sycophants right now. Not a top 25 team.

Witnessed the meltdown in person last weekend...hard to fathom we can still hang at 22. But guess the name Montana still garners some respect from voters.

Think psu should be higher.

Given what the other ranked teams have done and what the BSC teams have done, 22 is about right. It will change dramatically should any of the top BSC 5 teams stumble and several of them will the next few weeks.

We must win against isu or we will drop to #44. We should win but it will be tough. I am attending the game and Krammer will have the down trodden spuds ready to roll. I worry and hope he does not!

Now glad I did not get washed out at the psu game I really wanted to attend.

Word on the street is that they were looking for your royal barge in the Columbia. But alas, it was not to be.

My poll guesses were pretty good ... above #19. Below that, not so much. My biggest surprise was how far up the pollsters moved Charleston Southern. I predicted #20 and thought they might go one higher, but they moved to #15. Not very often do you see an up-move of nine spots.

Only mildly surprised that the kitties dropped out of the top-25. But the pollsters have obviously turned against North Dakota ... big time.

I thought The Citadel might move into the top-25, even though I could not quite bring myself to pick them. Go for them! :thumb:

Like some on eGriz have said, I think Portland State should be higher. We have seen both McNeese and Sam Houston play, and would say PSU would kick their butts.

Wouldn't have been shocked to see the Griz drop out altogether. Nor am I surprised to see them hanging in near the bottom.

Yet I am very surprised to see E. WA sitting at #4. Lately they've kept winning and got the job done. However the way they've won hasn't made them look like a top four seed.

I doubt that many (most?) pollsters watch that many games outside their own region -- if that. A close score simply means "they found a way to win" ... which is, of course, true. Two good points: (1) some games still to be played and (2) the selection committee does not pay that much attention to the polls. EWU continues to win, so they certainly deserve to be in the top-10. But I, personally, do not see them as a top-4 team (and we've watched a lot of FCS games outside the Big Sky). Still, at this point, I'd have a hard time trying to pick the absolute best four teams in the country.

Was just looking at some other conference schedules (just out of curiosity). Both Chattanooga and The Citadel face fairly weak opponents the week end -- Chattie at Mercer (3-5) and Citadel at home against VMI (2-7). If they both win, as expected, the game between them on Nov 14 will be for all the SoCon marbles. Amazing, really: Citadel has had just two winning season out of the last 13.

Interesting. Not that different, down to around 20-21, from the media poll. No big surprise on the inclusion of Bethune-Cookman ... they were one of my near-choices to replace the teams that dropped out of the top-25. But we have seen B-C play, and were not particularly impress. Some good size there, but they seemed to lack overall team speed.
