The less said about my earlier guesses, the better, although I did have nearly 20 that were within one or two of being correct. (But some of the misses were real stinkers. ) It was probably a bad idea to even try this early in the season. But they got plenty of interest, so maybe it was worth it.

Some comments:
A couple things really jump out. One of these, which was true last week, was how many different teams got first-place votes … with four of them in double-digits. The other, of course, is having the pollsters jump Jacksonville State into the top spot. I really did not think that would happen, but they probably deserve it.

As another poster said, Cal Poly deserves to be higher, but at least they were nudged up one. If (when) they knock off UNI, maybe they’ll get the respect they deserve.

Good to see that NAU moved into the top-25 to add another Big Sky team.

Cannot believe how far the pollsters dropped EWU. A three-point loss on the road, to a ranked team, and they fall seven spots? Ouch.

6 Big Sky teams ranked and North Dakota in 27th. With a win this weekend and a couple teams in front of us losing the Griz could be ranked in the top 5 next week.
