FCS Poll Guesses (Oct 6)

Well, at least the Griz had plenty of company, with nine of the Top-25, and three of the Top-10, suffering losses. In a weird way, that may benefit UM (or not, of course).

ETSU (3-3) [23]
No. Arizona (3-3) [25]

The pollsters have been kind to Central Arkansas, IMO. I expect that to continue, so my guess does not drop the Bears out of the Top-10. In fact, I could see the pollsters drop them even less than my guess.

North Dakota got pummeled at NDSU, so they could drop even more than my guess … but I really don’t think so.

Since Weber wasn’t ranked this week, I expect the Gtiz to take a major hit. For those who think UM shouldn’t be ranked at all … get over it. Their (4-2) record fits in very nicely where I’ve put them.

William & Mary also lost to an unranked opponent, so I expect them to drop a lot, and perhaps even more than my guess.

Now life gets even more interesting, starting with.Southern Illinois. The Salukis have now lost three games in a row … this last one by a big margin. I think they’ll be gone from the Top-25.

Then came the bloodbath, with four teams at #21 and below losing to unranked opponents. With the Salukis, that makes five slots opening up in the Top-25. The easiest answer is to include the top “Others Receiving Votes” that won their games. with a couple of additions. Personally, I’m not sold on Chattanooga, but they’ve been getting a lot of votes, so I think they’ll be in. Harvard has not been getting votes, but I think their upset of ranked New Hampshire will move them in.Weber has been getting votes (and was ranked briefly), so I think their upset of the Griz will move them in also.

I think the Griz go to #16...a couple of polsters really are down on the Griz
I don't think that Chattanoga goes #24...I see Weber being #24 and McNeese State being #25

I’m expecting a drop of at least 5 spots.

I agree with where you have us in your estimation, but expect we will be behind ACU after their win last weekend.

The Chattie pick is a total crap-shoot based on the way the pollsters have favored them in the past. McNeese is too low to survive a loss (they got doubled up) ... I don't see them staying in the Top-25.

Voters that watched the game shouldn’t drop the gris too much. It really wasn’t that bad and was rather just a good job to Weber. I would imagine a 4-5 drop but Weber definitely gets into the Top 25. Any team that wins in wagriz is a top 25 team undeniably. I think if the gris lose to NAU and still have UCD and MSU them playoff berth will start to get sketchy

Record is a facade. Couldn’t care less at this point. Much bigger concerns than our ranking.
