FCS playoffs will not use media polls this year

As seen/reported on twitter. This presumably frustrates some of the national poll voters who invest time and research into their polling, but I'd bet this decision falls at the feet of media voters who submit wild top 25's just to troll fanbases. I know Craig Haley is the easy answer there, he does love to argue with fans and it seems he'll elevate teams just to piss others off. But there's a few others who are far worse, I can't recall the guy last year who didn't even have Montana in the top 25 even after back to back wins against Davis and Idaho.

Thank GOD. Although to be honest I have doubts the committee gave the poles more than a glace when they seeded teams.

I don’t quite understand how this poll works, or where it comes from.
The way I think it's supposed to work is that each win and loss has a value. Notice the high game column with positive gains towards total score and low games are losses with negative scores

Good. Can you imagine Colter or his troll associates and those like them having a vote to influence the bracket?

Gross. Good move by the FCS!

Sam says:I’m told “The committee was focused on expanding the use of metrics-based tools to replace the polls we had used in years past. I’m told “The committee was focused on expanding the use of metrics-based tools to replace the polls we had used in years past. We were able to get those three on board to give us a good mix of both predictive (Massey & FPI) and results (KPI & SOS) based metrics.”

could someone explain this. "We were able to get those three on board to give us a good mix of both predictive (Massey & FPI) and results (KPI & SOS) based metrics.”

That pollster may have been Jamie Williams.
