For a weak as you say Southland Conf., Lamar gave UNI a really tough game. Was UNI overrated?

As overrated as a 6-5 team can be. Another example of the mediocrity that goes with a 24 team playoff.

I really do not think you would say that if the Griz got in with that record.

I think the Griz were pretty mediocre too, so you would be wrong. And I think 24 teams is too many.

I agree. However, 24 teams is ok

Any playoff format that selects 6-5 teams as at-large selections is too big.

Right now, round one is a reward for the participant teams - call it a bowl game. Teams work their asses off all year for an opportunity to get to this point & their successes should be rewarded. After that, I think there’s been one non-seeded to have gotten to the point of playing for a title, since the expansion.

Clearly, the committee struggles with choosing participants 9-24, witness the CAA love they showed this season. & we’ll find out just how flawed this seasons projections were if the seeded BSC teams stumble. I do like the idea of formally seeding everyone & playing it like a basketball tourney. I also get that it costs a lot of money to play games so regionalization is likely not going to go away.
