To keep this list relatively "clean," I'll put an explanation in a follow-up post. Here's some games we might be able to get. (Note the scroll bar on the long list for Saturday.)

We're still trying to get our head around the "longevity" of ESPN3 vs ESPN+ . As far as I can tell, ESPN is still claiming that ESPN3 ("free" streaming) is not going away now that they have ESPN+ (paid) streaming. We'll find out at some point, I guess.

Meanwhile, it's a crap-shoot as to whether or not someone will pick up an ESPN3 game and broadcast it in such a way that it appears on DirecTV (or cable, I guess). So, for this go-'round, I decided to post the FCS games that have actual listings on DirecTV as well as those that are still shown as ESPN3. (We were hoping the UNI at Indiana State game would show up, but so far, no go.) So that's the list as it stands.

I'll update the list as we learn more (some will, hopefully, show up tomorrow on the high 700 channels). The "?" after the Tennessee State - Vanderbilt game means they have not yet shown which (if any) alternative SEC channel that game might be broadcast on.

The UNI game never did show up as any DirecTV broadcast, so I removed it. No big loss ... Almost half time and the two teams have scored all of two FGs.

But we do have a possible upset brewing in the other game, since South Carolina State leads #12 North Carolina A&T, 16-3, late in the first half.

Edit: All right, UNI scored another FG. They lead Indiana State at the half, 9-0. NC A&T scored late, so they're down only 16-10 at the half.

Wow, both of those games really turned around in the 2nd half. And say what you want about the last two opponents for UNI, not only did the Panthers score a lot of points, but their D pitched two straight shut-outs. Impressive.

Just added a bunch of actual channel listings (all but one in the 700s, so you need the Pack). They are also showing another station for the JMU-Richmond. That can be important in case a particular channel is blacked out in your area.

The Vanderbilt site is saying that their game against Tennessee State will be shown on DirecTV 611-1. So I've gone with that, even though the Guide does not show it yet.

And, FWIW, I added the Houston Baptist at SMU game. Not likely to be close, but you never know.

There are still a half-dozen games shown as being on ESPN3, so I kept them in for now since some broadcasts might show up later.

Have a question for those who follow the Ivy regularly.

We're recording the Princeton at Columbia game (but probably won't keep it). Is there some "bad blood" between the two schools, members of a conference that supposedly values sportsmanship, etc.

Right now, Princeton leads 38-10, and it looks like they're on there way to another score. Now, it does appear that the Tiger kicker missed one PAT out of four their way to a 30-10 lead. So they score (easily) and go for, and make, a 2-point conversion. Why? Sure, I know it's up to the defense to stop the play ... but it seems like pretty crappy sportsmanship to not just take the routine kick.

(Oh, and Princeton just scored again. Will they go for two this time?)

Updated the list by removing several of the ESPN3 games. I did leave in the games featuring ranked teams since they might just show up at the last second (has happened before).

The cool thing is the addition of the #13 Villanova at #18 Stony Brook game. We'll be recording that, since it will overlap with the Griz game, but it's always good to see what some other ranked teams look like.

And ... GO GRIZ! :egriz:
