FCS Football: More Than Griz-Cat

Life ... and football ... goes on. Without the Griz (or the Cats, for that matter).

For those who didn't choose to get plastered (team lost or won), the CP - Northern Colorado has been pretty incredible (EverSport). Down to the wire with on-side kicks and big plays. Final score: CP 55-48 (over 100 points for those not too swift on addition after this much booze). Hopefully, they get an at-large bid, with their final 7-4 record.

Pretty amazing day in FCS football, for those who care. I kinda assume that CP will get an at-large bid -- making at least three from the Big Sky, with UND and EWU.

#7 Richmond (8-3) lost to William & Mary (5-6). The Spiders will still get a bid, but their bracket just took a hit.

#9 North Carolina (9-2) lost to NC Central (9-2), which puts NCC in the HBCU "Celebration Bowl" and leaves NC A&T hoping for an at-large bid from the MEAC -- problematic, at best.

#18 Samford (7-4) lost to pitiful ETSU, knocking themselves out of bid contention, IMO. Alabama was kind to Chattanooga (8-3), so they will have a good argument with Wofford (also 8-3) for a second bid from the SoCon (I do not see the conference getting three, but it could happen).

Western Illinois (6-5) almost certainly took themselves out of bid contention with their loss to Southern Illinois, along with North Iowa (5-6).

So then, the question (for the Big Sky) is whether or not Weber State (7-4) gets an at-large bid. I'd like to see that, and think it's deserved, but -- given the lack of respect thru the season -- I won't be shocked if they don't get it.
