Especially since most of the Griz commentary here about the 'Bats is about ... Wombat Nation commentary on the Griz and their ongoing obsession with the Griz, complete with polls showing that most Bobkeet fans would rather lose the season, if they could just "beat the Griz." "Fan mentality?"

There's only one side laughing on this. It's not Ron Ash, ten assistant coaches and their families, Dakota Prukop, or Peter Fields.

And don't get me wrong. I think he is an outstanding athlete. But, like any hubris, believing your own press releases, and ending with a 5-6 season with yet another loss to the Griz, ought to restore some sanity to a delusional fanbase and even delusional players. Prukop let it be known that he felt that had he QB'd the Wombats last year, the 'Bats would have won the Brawl of the Wild, and he was going to prove it this year! Because "cobra-like." And, at the end of a losing season, instead of "setting fires," they found out the matches were wet.

The thing about the Wombats is the assurance that in this one case, in all of college football, they are the one fanbase that doesn't "get it."

With the firing of FCS coach Rob Ash, upset boobcat boosters are having a thank you coach Ash party this Sunday afternoon at the brewery, near the msu field-house. NO JOKE. This ought to be good...

The guy was a great man and good coach. He just couldn't recruit good enough players.

I don't think recruiting was the issue.

Those defenders couldn't tackle a wet noodle. Recruiting was the issue, and is always the issue when you can't beat the top teams. :twocents:

Tackling wasn't the biggest concern of the Cat defense.. coaching was a very big problem.

So when a bobcat defender can't defend a pass (gets flat out beat), or when a bobcat defensive lineman or linebacker can't shed a block to even attempt an effort at a tackle because he is dominated by the opponent, this is who's fault? The answer is clearly the defender, the game is played between the lines.

A coach doesn't block, tackle, pass, catch, run, kick, punt. A coach wears Khakis. :lol:
