Here's a good page from USA Today showing each FBS & FCS school's finances this year. Click on a specific school for more detailed finances. Definitely very interesting to look at. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/schools/finances/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

2013 fiscal year data which would be the 2012 football season.

It would be more telling if non government support was broken out. Some of these programs get more institutional support than others.

If you follow the link and click on the school name, you get a breakdown of the revenues. I was curious to see how UCD had so much revenue. Their student fees are $17.87M. That is a serious commitment by the students! Montana by comparison is $1.58M. Imagine what the athletic department could do with another $16M/year?

A more realistic outcome is...
Imagine the torches and pitchforks on the oval if UM charged students that much. :twisted:

PS.
I too was curious how Cal Davis generated so much revenue. Thanks for passing that along.

PPS.
Do I win an award, or get the trademark, for the first use of "pitchforks" in 2015?

The subsidy for each school is listed. But no telling how much is gov't subsidy vs private donation.

UND's athletic finances are not properly counted in that list, because most of its tickets sold, concessions, parking, and other REA events go to the Engelstad trust, which is a charity set up for UND's benefit. I would estimate UND's total would be over $30 mill if the REA trust was included. UND athletic budget shows ticket revenue, but that is really booster funds that must be paid if you want hockey and certain football season tickets. The REA Trust can also bond for new facilities, something that a ND school can not normally do. If the REA is included, UND has the biggest budget in the Big Sky, thanks to hockey.

Engelstad.... same dude that celebrates Hitler's birthday?
So did Prince Harry.

Engelstad gave million to handicapped causes and medical causes. He dead, but he liked WWII memorabilia. Having Stalin's car didn't make him a communist or Churchill's car didn't make him allegiant to the British monarchy..

But having the Fighting Sioux as his mascot did make him a racist in the eyes of the Sioux Tribe...and we all know how that turned out :?

Are corporate contributions included, or is this just individual donors? UNC's contributions were cut in half in one year. I wonder what happened. We did usher in a new A.D., so maybe that has something to do with it.
