Jag are feasting (sorta) on FCS. They picked DE Jonathan Woodard from Central Arkansas (Southland Conf.) in the 7th round.
Edit:
Add in a punter from SHSU, #235 to the NY Jets
A linebacker from Maine #239 to Indianapolis
And #252 Beau Sandland from MSU to the Carolina Panthers.
(And I may have missed one.)
Of course, Sandland just missed being "Mr. Irrelevant."
For most ... I'd say 75%, but that could be low ... NFL draft teams prefer the safe, "defendable" pick. If they pick a second- or third-rate player from a big-time football powerhouse, and he flops, they can still say, "Well, he looked competitive against top opponents, week after week. It just didn't translate to the NFL." But if they take a flyer on a player from a lesser program, and he flops, the pickers look like a fools. Risk-reward ... for their own career, forget what might be best for the team.
