FCS committee rankings

It's all gonna sort itself out. The Griz, cats and Davis all still play each other, NDSU and USD still have to face each other, and USD and SDSU still have to go to UND, which as we've learned is a tough place to play. Plus if we beat Davis and Idaho didn't then there's no way the committee can justify putting us below Idaho. And they're also not gonna put 3 Big Sky teams all in the same quadrant of the bracket at 2, 7, and 10. That's just not gonna happen.

Hopefully Mercer loses to ETSU this week. Mercer plays at Alabama on the 16th so they'll pick up their second loss there. They're gonna destroy VMI and Furman so ETSU is the last chance for them to pickup another FCS loss. As for SEMO, they're remaining three games are @ Lindenwood, vs. W. Illinois, @ Tennessee State. TSU on the road is their best chance at an L. The Tigers are 6-2 and their losses have come to NDSU and Tennessee Tech. They don't really have any good wins though so I'm not sure about them.

If there’s no further improvement, I believe the Griz will get one home game followed by a trip to NDSU, SDSU or 🤮 the SK… I just don’t think they’ve got the horsepower this year. I don’t like what I see from recruiting next year either, unfortunately…😬

This is the selection committee current seed rankings, so it carries some weight.
Could you explain how it carries some weight ?There are 4 games left. All these teams could loose 1,2,3,4 games. If some loose 2 or 3 games then they certainly would not qualify for a top 10 seed IMO. Certainly looking at teams and their current record it carries weight now. But at the end of the season which is when the bracket seating takes place how does it then ? That would seem to be the only thing that would matter. Unless you are like well the Griz make us a lot of money with a home game so we need to seed them so that can happen.

3 seed. If they crush the bubs like last year (which I believe they will) a 2 is certainly possible. A top 4 is a given.
griz gonna crush the Cats in Bobcat stadium? Good luck with that. I suppose it could happen, but damn that looks to be an incredibly difficult thing to do. Cats have lost what, one game at home in the last five years.... last year.... to NDSU.... thanks to a blocked XP in OT? I guess it could happen, we'll see.

Because it shows what the committee thinks of some of these teams now. I was a bit surprised to see where some teams were placed. However, I am not following all of the teams, so don't know. For example, why does the committee rank Idaho so high, when the polls don't, to my knowledge? Mercer and Incarnate Word? Obviously, the committee likes those teams.

Mercer and Incarnate Word? Between the two there has been only one team we faced that they played. I cannot see another team in the top ten that they played. Se Missouri state only played New Mexico which they lost to. These 3 teams alone did not play the same caliber as the rest in the top ten. For the other 7 teams they could lose 3 or 4 games each. Very highly unlikely but if it were to happen then this could change a lot. My point is how does this bracket matter now?

Pretty straight forward. If you need an explanation, you won't get it anyway.

Looking at Sagarin ratings again.

Montana is 106.

UND and Missouri St. are 112 and 113. Davis 115. Incarnate Word is 116. Tarelton St and Idaho 129 and 130. Mercer is 135. SE Missouri St is 145.

Sagarin sure doesn't agree with the playoff committee.

Massey:

Davis 5, UM 6, Idaho 7, Missouri St. 8, UND 9.

SE Missouri 11, Incarnate Word 12, Tarelton 13, Mercer 15.
