FCS Coaches Poll (Sept 15, 2015)

I guess I just see it differently. As a FAN of the Grizzlies, I'm glad they are ranked where they are, not irritated. I'm not a Cal Poly fan or Jacksonville State fan, or a Portland State fan. I'll let their fans be irritated at their rankings. It's not the Montana Grizzlies problem where another team is ranked. It's hilarious to me how many Griz fans are clamoring for the Griz to be ranked below Cal Poly on the SOLE basis that they beat the Griz. But NDSU, with the same record as Montana, is ranked No. 2. LOL.

It always cracks me up the way some fans are MAD that the Griz are rated high. The Cal Poly argument is dumb too. They were at essentially No. 30 when they beat the Griz. They weren't gonna jump 22 spots in one poll. Polls don't work like that. Had they pulled off the ASU upset, then they probably would have jumped eight or nine more spots into the Top 10. But they didn't. They actually did lose that game. And the pollsters didn't really penalize them for losing that game, as they didn't suffer a drop in the polls. So fear not Egrizzers, if Cal Poly is as good as they look to be, and the Griz are as overrated as so many of you think they are, they will eventually trade places in the poll.

I think the point is...preseason polls are hogwash...

....too bad the boys from Cheney Community College are 0-2.

Kupp out and their offense not so prolific.......their porus defense not saving them either.

But maybe UNI not too bad. Still think regardless they will give us fits in November

Kupp is playing against MSU, and he actually played a full half against UNI and was absolutely unstoppable, even though he was already hurt. What EWU absolutely doesn't have, besides a defense, is a running game. Their starter is out longterm, and Jabari Wilson and Sam McPherson aren't very good.

Meanwhile, if EWU falls to 0-4 I look for them to maybe drop out of the top 15.
Aw now, it's not quite that bad. ;)

By my formula (which works better, obviously, with more games played), a third loss would drop them to about #21. A fourth loss would drop them out of the top-25 ... but they'd probably still be among the "Others receiving votes."

It's all part of the fun of college football.

(If you want clarity, go check the betting lines -- when you can find them. Gets a bit more serious when there's money to be made, or lost.)

So let me get this straight. Kupp was already hurt but played in the first half and Coach Baldwin decided to sit him for the second half even though they had a chance to win but he will be ready to go on Saturday against the Cats...ummmm...OK

What makes that even more interesting is that -- as I understand it -- the EWU-MSU game is not a conference game this year.

No, he got injured in the first quarter of the game. He has a deep thigh bruise, aka a hip pointer. And yes, he will play against MSU. I'm not saying he isn't still injured, but he's going to play.

This seems to say different

Could be true (save him for a conference game), could be Baldwin with a little gamesmanship.

Found the Kupp is questionable and not doubtful, so hav is probably correct about this weekend unless they give an update later in the week.

Yep ... and not a very funny joke, either.
