FCS Championship Game prediction

Does anyone realize that Illinois State's defense runs the 3-3-5? They have bigger defensive lineman (mostly 285 to 305lbs with a couple DEs at 265).

I have not yet taken the time to calculate the Total Yards per game, Passing Yards, rushing yards and turnovers.

I have not come to a conclusion on which team I believe will win.

At this point I think the team that wins will need to score at least 28 points.

I would be interested in seeing others predictions.

I am retired so in the next few days I’ll have time to add more statistics of both teams.

Illinois State is going to win this game.

I think MSU is expecting ISU to roll over and show them their belly. That isn't gonna happen.

I predicted a blow out in the semi-final, 48-17 MSU (I was off six points) and I am predicting a blowout now.

Here's an interesting statistic - Illinois State was 4-0 away from Normal, Illinois in Missouri Valley conference games and they are 4-0 away in the FCS playoffs.

Still getting there but that's the model for all of us. When NDSU came into Bobcat stadium in the early teens, got behind by like 17 in the third quarter and just ran A gap the rest of the way and won by about 17, that changed everything over here. Yes, Ash was on the hot seat, but that game was the catalyst for everything we're experiencing today. AD and coach with most wins fired and a cultural paradigm shift implemented.
 
I've been watching ISU games over the past few days, and I would say they are, by far, the best FCS team we've played this year...definitely better than their seeding. They are BIG and physical on both their lines (typical for MVFC). Their linebackers are active and really run downhill. The one receiver is a stud, and the entire receiving corps is talented.

The running back is a bow-legged bowling ball who is a North/South runner...maybe somewhat similar to the guy from Yale.

The QB throws with a ton of confidence....which sometimes gets him into trouble. MSU needs to shut down the run game and force them to be one-dimensional.

Offensively, I don't think we'll have much luck running between the tackles, thus will attack the edges with JET sweeps, outside zone, split zone... In the pass game, I think we need stay patient and be efficient with underneath routes.

I don't have a score prediction, but I think the point spread is really disrespecting a very good and talented ISU team.

You don’t say ISU is big and physical? Do you know who their strength coach is and who he did not get along with at his last job before Illinois State? I’ll give you a clue, he was replaced by someone with a journalism degree.
