So I always thought there was a rule that the holder couldn’t throw forward from his knees. Wouldn’t he be down? Guess not

I always thought that was the one exception to the rule.

Announcers commented specifically on this and the answer is "no". Remember, they have some rule guy of over 30 years with them today! Lol

Yeah must be.
Such an awesome call. I love plays like that. Takes balls and brains

So what happens in the 2nd half when EWU defense gets tired?

SOLID point, and one I just mentioned to my wife. Seems to me that is the way NDSU wins a lot of ball games. That big offensive line and powerful run game just keep holding on to the ball, pounding the defense, and eventually tire them out in the 4th. Just like the Griz used to!!

It is. A very specific and detailed exception. According to an "Ask the Official" web page, in high school and "youth" football, the holder must raise his knee off the ground before he advances the ball in any way. In college, they can pass or pitch with their knee still on the ground. (Question was sent in after Notre Dame did it in a game.)

Ya that call was sweet.

Those refs are horrible. Total mystery call against NDSU receiver for offensive interference. No contact at all. Ref who throws flag is a mile away, according the announcers.

I understand they come from a CAA/Patriot/Ivy pool.
