FCS Championship City

I scanned a couple pages of threads for the last mention of the FCS championship game contract with Frisco, but could not find it. So ... here's a new topic. FWIW, Frisco, Texas is likely to hold the contract for the FCS championship game for a long time ... basically, I suspect, as long as they want it.

City boosters are on fire!

I suppose there is some chance that the FCS championship might become too "small potatoes" -- what with everything else going on. The article does not say where the fancy new facility will be, that's mentioned in some other items. It seems to be about 3 miles from the stadium where the championship is played.

Again I've been saying this for months now, Frisco has a stranglehold on the FCS championship game for a very very long time now. If anybody wants any in depth information regarding either the new FCS champ site facilities upgrades and functionality, or the new Cowboys Star Facility PM me.

The new Star facility is located right off Dallas North Tollway in a section of Frisco known as the 5 Billion Dollar Mile. Basically it is exactly what it sounds like. Over 5 Billion worth of development all located within 1 mile stretch along Dallas North Tollway. This is where the cowboys world headquarters also know as the Star is located. It is however much more than a football facility. It is largely a mixed use development with plenty of restaurants and shopping and an Omni hotel surrounding the cowboys facility. Baylor is also building a sports rehab facility geared mainly towards neuroscience and brain health, complete with a half indoor half outdoor football field and multiple courts to rehab on.

The area where the FCS champ site Toyota Stadium is located is also undergoing MAJOR development upgrades. Most know about the new stadium expansion complete with new locker rooms for football and also inclosing the south endzone with stadium seating and suites/patio space. Many do not know about the large developments beginning to break ground surrounding the stadium which are also mixed use. Bringing many more retail and food establishments around the Toyota stadium.

All in all the new Star Development and Toyota Stadium are a 5 minutre drive from one another.
