Confirmed through Twitter that the broadcast team for next Sunday is Ted Emrich, Jay Walker, Ryan Leaf, and Taylor Davis. Emrich and Davis are both very good. Not a big Walker fan and I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever watched a game that Ryan Leaf has called, so I can’t really give him a fair assessment. One week out, we’re getting close! Go Griz!
 
I’ve never seen Ryan Leaf call a game at any level. Idk how he got this opportunity. Guy just continues to fail up.

This whole thing just feels like a big troll job
 
I have never watched a game on which Leaf was a commentator. But, given his history, and his past comments re Montana, I would just as soon he were several thousand miles away. Why in gawd's name would he be selected to do this game????
 
I have watched Leaf before, he does not do a bad job. He knows the QB position and brings that to the broadcast.

If his partner is indeed Jay Walker, then they will both know the position. Walker was a star quarterback at Howard and led them to their first (and only) 1-AA playoff bid … 1993, where they lost in the first round. He was a late-round draft by the NFL and lasted around four years, with a side stint with the “Barcelona Dragons.” Beyond that, he and Leaf could not be more different. After his retirement from the NFL, Walker had a successful career in business and state (Maryland) politics before becoming an ESPN analyst. (You all know about Leaf.)

Walker is okay as a football analyst (he knows his stuff), aside from is near-obsession with HBCU football. That’s perhaps understandable, given his college football background, but it gets annoying after awhile. Expect him to bring up the Florida A&M Rattlers (winners of the Celebration Bowl), and why they should be ranked high in the overall FCS standings. (FWIW: The highest FCS power ranking I could find for Florida A&M was #37, right behind Eastern Washington. Sagarin does not rank the Rattlers even in the top-50 FCS teams.)

The actual broadcast team for ABC is Roy Philpott, Roddy Jones and Taylor McGregor. Jay Walker has been removed from the broadcast. My apologies for the mixup. I thought it seemed weird ESPN would pick Ryan Leaf for this game

This was today. Yeah, he'll be unbiased I'm suurrrrrrrrre. Thank GOD I don't have to listen to the westwood one call. What a tool. So amazingly unprofessional. Can you imagine Brock Huard wearing a Washington hoodie the week he calls an Oregon game?
