Read your original post (and note that you referred twice to "drop downs"). See it quoted below. The thread is about FBS transfer rules, which could involve drop downs. The thread was not about JC and other transfers. No big deal, but the discussion would have been different had you referred to transfers. You wouldn't have heard anything from me. However, since it started off as a discussion on "drop downs", I thought, in my above post, that I would finish off the drop down part of the discussion. The good news is that now we have hard data on drop downs and all transfers. Both were of interest.
"Honestly, I'd be fine with the drop downs slowing (or even stopping). 98% of the impact players, at least for the Griz in their past 20 years of success, have been recruited out of HS...can't remember the last REALLY impactful drop down"
I think that it's a little insulting to Justin Green when you said that " I really can't think of the last impactful drop down player". Just sayin......
PR, I get it. This isn't a f***[*] courtroom where I need to have my testimony read back to me like a f***[*] child. Short of falling on the sword, what else would you have me say? I know what I said, and I know what I meant...Christ on a crutch man, let it go.
And CV, I loved watching Justin Green play, but Justin Green's last game as a Griz was 9 1/2 years ago. In other words, the current crop of incoming freshmen were in 3rd grade when Justin Green graduated. Whicih really just makes my point even more valid.
Have we had some good ones? Certainly. Have we had some that were above average? Definitely. Would it kill us if the rule changed? Not by a long shot...I guess it just depends on your definition of "impactful".
Didn't really mean to start such a shit storm...
No problem Az. I hear what your sayin'. But the guy is the friggin RB coach. Maybe it was a mental lapse or something. He was a huge drop down player for UM. You can't let a player like that slip your mind.
