F***ing hate Bama.

Hey, what the hell did I do to you? :D

Seriously though the only thing I can’t stand more then the tide is their obnoxious delusional fan base. Now they all gotta by their make believe 17 National championship t shirts and bumper stickers.

You sound like an Auburn fan. Aka the equivalence of an MSU fan.

Na, anti SEC all the way. Bama is just at the top of the list cus I live here and have to try and talk football with these arrogant bastards. If I was held at gunpoint and had to pick an SEC team though, I guess I’d have to pick Georgia. That don’t mean I root for em though. I hope every SEC team loses all their non con games every year.

That makes much more sense.

I don't hate 'bama, except for their choice to hire Nick Satan. I mean, I can't say that I really blame them for wanting to win, but I can't stand him. There is no way that guy isn't cheating. He knows something he can get away with in college, that apparently doesn't work in the NFL.

I mean, he worked under the infamous cheater, Bill Bellichick, as well as George Perles who managed to get Michigan sanctioned by the NCAA while deflecting any of the blame from himself.

Since the FBS is so set on only allowing teams from the P5 conferences than the only way to do this fairly would be the following.

Hold a 6 team playoff with each of the power 5 champs and the highest ranked Non P5 team. If you don't win your conference (especially in a 4 team only playoff field) you should not even be in contention for a spot. This is two years in a row that a team that didn't even win their conference was playing in the playoff while the champion of said conferences were left out.

ACC Champ- Clemson
SEC Champ- Georgia
Big 10 Champ- Ohio State
Big 12 Champ- Oklahoma
Pac 12 Champ- USC
HR Non P5- UCF

That should have been the playoff field. Then the "experts" can go into whatever crap they use to decide who should be which rank. The top 2 seeds get bye's and the other 4 play in Rnd. 1, winners of course meet in the next round and then the winners of those games play in the championship. It's not rocket science but for some reason the FBS can't figure it out. Makes me glad to be a fan of the FCS.

Yep, your notion would make for a very workable system. There'd still be the problem of "fairly" picking the non-P5 representative, but at least one such team would get a chance to join the party.

Back when the so-called championship structure was finally put in place, there were advocates who had the gall to claim that "it makes the conference games more meaningful" (or words to that effect). Turns out, the conferences don't mean a damn thing -- except maybe to the fans of that conference. And, of course, being able to have conference championship games give them one more chance to milk the fans and collect more TV money. But as far as being selected for their exclusive little "BCS championship" club, it clearly means zip.

Meanwhile, as has been said here and there: Congrats! to UCF for their National Championship. (Which is every bit as valid as the SEC "special election," as far as I'm concerned.)
