Favorite Brawl?

2008 was a classic. I remember watching on TV the guys run out in the copper and gold. I was going nuts at home, I can only imagine how loud that stadium had to have been. I knew then, the cats never even stood a chance that day.

'97 and '11 were great, but my personal favorite I saw in person was 2014.

Just....domination. So satisfying seeing them implode so thoroughly.

First time under the lights was sweet as well.

The ‘97 game is tops, of course.

A very close second is the ‘08 game. Just because they were #1 in the country. But nobody bought that ranking for a second. Not even them.

wrong year my friend. 2011 they were #1. 2008 I think they were 7-4 going into that game. I think they played 2 FBS teams that year cause it was a 12 game season.

  Thanks. No idea why I remembered it as then. :x

1997. If you weren't around then, you're in for a treat.

Even if you were around that's a treat. Never gets old.

1969 at Bozo. It was for the Big Sky title. The griz were undefeated having scored 30 - 60 points per game. The previous year also a title game as I remember the Griz led the entire game only to have the Cats score 20 plus points in the last 9 minutes Bothe teams leading play er was guy named Bain (they were brothers) In any event pretty much the same situation came up in 1969. The catd held the Griz championship in their hands At the end of the 4th quarter the score was 7-6 griz. Grizzlies won when MSU’s Frank Kalfoss misses a 42-yard field goal attempt with 25 seconds left. Cats have chance to go ahead early in the fourth quarter, but a fumble at the 2-yard line and the ball goes out of the end zone, handing the ball back to the Griz. 42 yards was nothing for Frank Kalfoss who was arguably a better kicker than the guy he replaced (Jan Stenrud) If it weren't for the Blizzard, he prolly would have made it. (many though he did but it was snowing and blowing so hard no one could really see.

the one where we kicked a fg in bozeman as time ran out and their hearts were broken (1997), your friend, yogi

yep! I still remember watching that thing thinking game was over...and then...YES!

This! I was at a kitty watch party in Kent listening to the faithful chant Poor Grizzlies. I broke my watch on the bar as the kick sailed thru the uprights. It was a beautiful day!

I remember screaming at the TV..."timeout, timeout, timeout!" after that long pass. Don't think I broke anything other than my vocal cords. hahaha

97 was the best! Remember it like it was yesterday! Froze my ass off in Bozeman and lost my voice for 2 days afterwards.

I was at the 1997 game in Bozeman. The next day, I bought the Sunday Chronicle. A week or so later, I gave the sports section to the owner of The Bodega in Missoula. He put it in a frame and stuck it on the wall. As far as I know, it's still there...somewhere.

'97 may have been a helluva game but I like the blowout games better, like '99 when we beat 'em 49-3. Total domination is better. Mostly because they suck. FTC!

2008 was a classic, the orange unis and a royal ass beating. 2011 beating them down in bozo land in the white and silver unis when Bozeman was #1 in the nation......ohhh the fans were so bitter after that one.

Those are probably my two favs.

'97, was at Torrey Pines in Vegas with a lot of folks, but the non-griz fans were incognito until the late cat TD. The place errupted until the Olsen catch and then the FG. I have never seen a place hush so fast with that many people until the Griz fan frenzy of course. It was epic. Will never forget it.

'86 first Cat/Griz at WGS. They had beaten us 3 straight and we sorted them out and started "The Streak", also Coach Read's first Cat/Griz.

With out any doubt the 1997 Game will always go down as my favorite in this series. Broke the hearts of so many cat fans that day, you just gotta love it.

No contest for me. 2002. Best Cat-Griz game ever. Sing it with me! Lulay, Lulay, Lulay, Lulay, Lulaaaaayyyy, Lulay.

1904.It was cold and not loud. Cats had a 6 game streak going, but Griz had enough of that. Came out swinging and never let up. Won 79-0. Still remember it like it was yesterday.
