So if the Griz beat the Cats this weekend (I believe they will pummel them) and the bracket is correct - the Bobcats could be headed to Missoula If they were to win their first round game. Interesting.

I just don’t think they would have UM and cats face off again. They would send Cats to Weber since they have not played in conference.
Other than that, the bracket looks good.

Getting the 3 seed would be huge for a run. I agree MSU will be put on the other side of the bracket likely would play Weber in the 2nd round since they didn’t play this year.

That's only a consideration in the first round. Remember they sent us to Cheney in the second round in 2014.

I think the question becomes would the committee have the Griz and Cats play again so soon after they had just played? I'm sure it could happen, but we had a four-week gap between playing EWU in 2014, while this year would be only a two-week gap if this matchup were to happen. Obviously, the only rule is we can't play the Cats in the first round, so a second round matchup is possible. I think the Cats would more likely be sent to Weber, but we'll see.

So glad we can have these kinds of conversations right now :lol:

A guideline for the committee is to favor conference matchups in which the two conference members didn’t meet in the regular season. The committee will certainly attempt to steer towards a msu/Weebs game over a rematch with the GRIZ.

The committee could totally still seed Sac above us, assuming we both win. Depends how much stock they put into head-to-head.

While the committee could seed Sac State in a better position than the Griz, you have to think if Griz handle business on Saturday they lock up the #3 seed. At some point you have to look at the overall body of work, strength of schedule, etc. I would think the committee would want to discourage teams from playing NAIA schools in football. I still think a strong case could be made that the Griz should be the #2 seed with a win saturday. Compare resumes of Montana and JMU. Why not make Montana 2 and JMU 3?

I completely agree with you, and had we beaten Sac and finished undefeated against FCS teams, there's an extremely strong argument that we should be ahead of JMU.

That said, they've been crushing teams, and still haven't lost to an FCS school. I just don't think the committee will put us over a team undefeated against its peers, assuming we both win this weekend.
