Fans Leaving

I could not believe the number of fans that got up and left when we did not score the touchdown and kicked the field goal with less than three minutes left in the game. In section 123 and 124 (right behind the Griz bench) I bet 30 or 40 people got up and left. Hope the don't come back.

Myself, I'm torn. On the one hand, I kinda hope they checked on radio and discovered how they'd f**ked up right away. But it might be even better if they didn't ... got home, and then found how they'd missed the best part. Now that would be sweet.

Wonder how many Bison fans thought the game was won and decided they'd "beat the traffic," etc. Now that would be sweet too. :)

No one in my section left early, in fact no one made a move to leave until after the fight song.
Pretty cool everyone just standing there and clapping, clapping for both teams with good game chants to the Bison as they walked off the field .

I was impressed with how full the stands were to the bitter end. That said, this has become a predictable (que the fans leaving meme) post-game on here. When there, I stay to the end. You apparently stay to the end. Other people have other lives. I don't get all the jabber on here about standing vs. sitting, clapping vs. screaming, staying vs. going. People who left early yesterday really missed something, but I guess I'm just saying there are different kinds of fans and who am I to judge?

Hey, hey, hey, after a great win like yesterday ... what else do have to bitch about? ;)

And we all know a lot of what fuels :fuel: eGriz is bitching and complaining.

I'm with you. That had to have been one of the largest crowd to see the guys come down to the northeast corner and sing the fight song. Nobody left the NEZ that I could see.

same in my section........we were in a state of ecstasy and OMG, we could not move. we had 2 bison fans in front of us and 4 behind us in a crowd of griz regulars and we all were in a state of shock. it was a great moment and i was happy that we had bison fans to share it with......it was bittersweet as we were all in that moment..........just for a second though, then it was, man you guys are good and I am sure we will see you in the post season. :D

Oh yeah, silly me! ;)

Fans left early to go out for halftime then got back in super late, a real headscratcher to me, knowing how fast our team can score and never knowing what Stitt is going to pull out, I would not miss a second of Griz football when the game was so close like that.

Me either. The halftime thing is weirder to me than leaving early but, like I said, different lives, different motivations.... I just try to enjoy the game as best I know how

Some people are slow learners. Of course, we were at home watching on TV. So we could back it up, but I only went for a beverage (or whatever) when NDSU had the ball. We could see right from the first offensive possession that all the hype was likely to be true. Who wants to miss a great play when it actually happens?

Many fans are there for the party and less so for the football...

My trips to Missoula were never long enough. When the gates to WGS opened, I was in and was one of the last to leave, sucking the marrow out of my experience. Traffic would suck for an hour and a half anyway, so shop the Bookstore(you should see my Griz Room), eat at the UC, walk the campus. Then the long, long drive home. Those who leave early, I feel sorry for, but don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Something tells me the outcome of yesterday's game will go a long way toward changing some behaviors. Not @ halftime though. The siren calls of those parking lots...

Nobody in sec. 126 left early. We sat down for awhile after the game just to watch the scene. When we left it was the slowest to get out and very slow over the bridge. Maybe, some sections are brain dead on booz, so left not know what this team can do. Did any of us know what the team and coach can do? The drunk only knows what comes into his head. DAH....
