Fallen Griz

Just saw this on Facebook from the UM Grizzly Athletics page...

Griz Nation, we are now taking names for our Fallen Griz tribute at the Griz-Cat football game on November 17. If you have a Montana fan who has passed away over the past year, please e-mail the following to [email protected] : A photo, name, date of birth, date of death and hometown. We will run the tribute during pregame.

I lost my Gramma this year whos tickets I have proudly inherited and at whos house we watched the '95 Championship and always went to the Homecoming Parade with as I grew up, and submited her for the Tribute. Just one more reason to get excited for Game Day she would have loved being on "The Griz Vizion".

My dad, George A. Weldon, I believe to be (at the time of his death) the oldest and longest member of the U of M Century Club on record? Awesome awesome awesome Griz fan! Many of my early lessons came to me at Griz games:). Mos def my dad is one of the greatest Griz fans ever, and I one of my dads greatest fans ever:) .. (and of course Griz fan... cut my teeth on the Griz :))

born: December 21,1915 in North Dakota. His family homesteaded in Billings when he was a baby, as an adult he moved and lived in Missoula for over 60 years. He died in his hometown of Missoula on August 26, 2011.

No worries and thank you for your care... I just thought I'd practice here:) and I do so appreciate my upbringing and Griz sports was a big part of that. I did understand to do the email and did that too. you are cool (and thanks) for bringing this to my attention anyway. 8-)

missoula lost one of her finest young men last year. his full name was todd lanuzzi but every one who new him well called him squishnuts. his bday was febuary 5 1991. we met when we were both in 3rd grade together for a couple years and we were tight ever since. he was such a class act. the kinda kid who always made his kids go to school for at least a few days every week and took them to the river and all that shit. he was a guy who had it all together and i really looked up to him. obviously we were both soljas and i kno he woulda taken a bullet for me out there if he had to.

sadly he never had the opportunity cuz he was killed in june 2011 in a trailer fire in travois. saddest day of my life. if theirs 1 good thing to come from his death its this lesson-dont set ur BURNING HOT SPOON on the matress if ur gona pass out!!! thank god his cousin edgar woke up in time to get both his sons and a few of his katanas and throwing stars out before the flames went up really bad. it makes me so mad to think that he should still be here going to the game with me on saturday. but i do have some good memories to think back on. we use to crank his bass really loud in the parking lot before the games til some pussy cop came to tell us to turn it down and we would say sorry and insist he take some of our swiss miss. exept we creamered it with some of our special skeet cream

anyways i would love to see squishy honored on the big screen saturday. heres the only decent pic i have
