Fall Camp Day-4 Observations

Let me get this straight...... so, major FBS fan sites can discuss practices and players. but we can't here?

Sure you can, but tread lightly. If Bobby thinks too much info is being shared, he will close practice so there will be no info to post.

This is basically it, I think if you go by these expectations you'll be fine:

- Don't post about injuries or who appears to be out/missing from practice
- Don't post plays/formations specifically that gives away design/playcalls/etc
- Don't post direct conversations between players/coaches/etc

Keep it to who was playing well, who wasn't, and then general observations - and you're probably good.

We saw Pflu lock down practices over message board posts, Delaney followed suit for fall camp only. Stitt opened it up for a week and then locked it down again. Stitt then eased back and allowed QB Club only the next season - but would have athletics staff checking to make sure no phones were out, ever. Bobby came back and had generally allowed the public at practices, but not too many scrimmages, and generally since most have respected the request on keeping things minimal when it comes to some topics we've not seen too much of a backlash on info that comes from practices, so far.

Yea, no kidding! Good luck finding anyone serving food after 9:30pm on a Thursday night in Missoula. So they drug me to the Oxford Cafe. Funky, but fun place! I didn’t think there was anywhere where you can buy a $12 buck steak at 10:00pm.
You had me at "drug me" and "Oxford Cafe"

That’s funny as hell! Now I have to go back and try the “brains and eggs”! That gun cabinet behind and above the bar is something else too!

You ran into Knight at the Guns N’ Roses concert? I was told by 2 players (junior and frosh) that Hauck and coaches made it 100% clear they were not to attend the concert. It was brought up every single day all week up until the concert. I know for a fact Knight has been at every team and position meeting, and is even attending the morning and evening walk-throughs. The evening walk-through went until nearly 10:00 PM last Friday for this reason.
If this is true about hauck not wanting players to go to the concert, which would be ridiculous... why would hauck make that mandate?...
I can think of many reasons…first and foremost, it’s fall camp where focus is 100% about football, not partying at a concert. Way more bad could come of it than good. Not worth it.

Brains and Eggs: The order to the cook was (He Needs Em)... and beef stew was ( under the Bridge). Hamburger was (stretch one) with onions (pin a rose on it), Salisbury steak was ( a single Man), and with Gravy(A married Man).. Not bad for going back 62 years..

Do you like him at middle backer? I think outside or strong safety to replace konkle would be better for him. And I pretty sure his dad was actually mad for overusing him though.

I had heard a couple of years ago that Troy would have signed with The Griz in a heartbeat, but Stitt did not actively recruit him, and only offered him late in the recruiting process, while the Cats were all over him early-on. Is that true, or just an urban legend. If it is true, just another gift from Stitt, who never focused on defense from the get-go.

Stitt may have dropped the ball on Andersen. Not arguing that.

But he gave us Samuel Akem and Samori Toure. Let's celebrate the successes. :) :) :)

This is great. I knew the “he needs em” of course but the rest is awesome on so many levels.

This is awesome and should be posted on the door before you come in! Really, 62 years ago now? That is seriously impressive!

+1 Great post #64!

As a UM student in the late '50s, I ate frequently at the Ox because of the low cost of decent meals. One time an order came for the brains & eggs. The cook walked over to the glass-doored fridge, where a bucket of calves brains stared at you. He'd take one, plop in on the grill where it started sizzling. He'd chop it up with the spatula, break two or three eggs on it, stir it all up & serve it. No way was I ever going to order it! BTW, back in the '40s-'50s, a waiter named Shorty called out the orders that colorful way & I think it started w/ him.

It’s something you should try once in your life.

How about George Pramenkos' bar where lou Rocheleau was a regular, and the Candle, and the Thunderbird bar, and al Pepe's pool hall, and Vince Barrones bar on 93 S . And of Course Red's.and the elks club where Ray Jenkins and staff frequented..How about the Double Front Chicken. and woody street bars(Spiders maverick, and a couple more i forget??How about Jakes bar in the alley?

Left my phone there is summer and when I retrieved it Vince the cook had left me a selfy
Great place great staff.

I know you are right, but they haven’t stepped it up and beat the cats likeTroy handled us. oh what could of have been if only someone on his staff had remembered who the Fitz brothers were. I think Troy is going to have his hands full playing middle linebacker. But he is smart as hell and hopefully he doesn’t play offense against us ever again. Can’t wait for the brawl of the wild.

Ps. You were right Troy ran by Rh and the entire bsc. Luckily for us the fastest guy in the bsc is now playing middle linebacker. If I was calling their defense I would have him on the weak side and blitz him on a regular basis.

Ran into Griz running back #21 at GnR concert. He’s really yoked and said that he’s 3 months ahead of schedule in his rehab. You all know what that means— he might be able to return at full strength for the 4 playoff games. So yeah I’m saying we might still have a chance :thumb:

Ps. Mission control start the countdown to my stalker ......3,2,1

Yes, I did actually. Our tickets were right next to his. Bobby let practice out just after 9 so the team could attend. He was in his seat down on the field next ours by 9:30. Your nephew must be mistaken, there was no ban on the concert for upper class-men half the team was there. The other half sold their tickets when they heard the warm up band canceled because they thought it would start early and be over before practice ended. We bought ours in a selling frenzy from a player for half price. I don’t understand guys like you, I post shit about the Griz on here because I thought the whole idea of the board was to share insights and happenings and basically anything cool about our Griz with other Griz fans. So you and your buddies attack shit I post because you don’t like me, fine. I don’t post for you guys and if the majority of the board doesn’t like my posts well, then I will quit posting I guess. The vocal minority is getting more hostile and really starting to harsh the mellow of pedestrian Griz fans like myself. Haters take it or leave it I don’t care and not going to waste anymore time justifying anything I post.

Ps. I have a selfie taken with him at the concert with slash wailing on the big screen in the background. (I can pm it to anyone who wants to see it, just a pic and has no audio though) He’s a really great kid, and fellas he is jacked up he is noticeably more muscular then from last year. He is also a really talented guitar player, I know a kid who used to room with him and thats what he does most evenings after studying, he fingers his acoustic guitar for hours and he doesn't party at all. He really liked slash’s riffs. This year he is rooming with the Washington guys —cam, fouch and grossman. Interesting make up of key offensive players living together. Well at least I think so. Any objections to this post? Go Griz

Wow you guys had an epic 4th day of camp.

How was MSU’s? Lots of receivers catching passes with minimal coverage is my guess, but, I’d honestly have no way of knowing.
