Fall Camp Day-4 Observations

Do you like him at middle backer? I think outside or strong safety to replace konkle would be better for him. And I pretty sure his dad was actually mad for overusing him though.

I had heard a couple of years ago that Troy would have signed with The Griz in a heartbeat, but Stitt did not actively recruit him, and only offered him late in the recruiting process, while the Cats were all over him early-on. Is that true, or just an urban legend. If it is true, just another gift from Stitt, who never focused on defense from the get-go.

Ran into Griz running back #21 at GnR concert. He’s really yoked and said that he’s 3 months ahead of schedule in his rehab. You all know what that means— he might be able to return at full strength for the 4 playoff games. So yeah I’m saying we might still have a chance :thumb:

God, that's sad. Didn't Troy attend a Griz summer football camp? One would think the coaches running that camp would have been able to see what a freak-of-nature this kid was. Can you imagine what our LB corps would have looked like with Troy added to the mix?

I caught 15 min of practice last week, hopefully can see a little more this coming week. I do think the coaching staff would generally prefer most detailed practice info stays off the message boards, if possible.

Brint, as an Ohio State Buckeye fan, and also a Georgia Bulldog fan from the 11 years I lived in Atlanta, I visit their fan web sites. There is lots of football commentary from fans visiting practices, or from fans knowing players, etc. This stuff just goes with the territory, and I believe every head coach would prefer that these fan sites didn't even exist. But any observations made by me, or by any other observer, are nothing more than opinion by that fan.

To me, Griz fans living out-of-state, are hungry for any information about the team, about individual players who might stand-out, etc. This desire for info has been expressed by many posters on egriz. This info builds excitement across Griz Nation in preparation for the season. I hope that you will continue to provide your insights from practice, as you have done in the past.

As a fan of kids from Montana being successful I hope Tommy Mellott from Butte gets the job. I hope he has a great career. Great player and a great kid. Except for one game each year.

I don’t think that’s true at all. Griz did recruit him at that time. I remember that he was one of our first offers. His family has MSU ties and was leaning that way until committing. The question with Troy was whether he was going to get FBS attention but they never really happened for him so he went with the route we all thought he was gonna go. I will say that if Bobby was running the show then that might have made it more interesting.

You ran into Knight at the Guns N’ Roses concert? I was told by 2 players (junior and frosh) that Hauck and coaches made it 100% clear they were not to attend the concert. It was brought up every single day all week up until the concert. I know for a fact Knight has been at every team and position meeting, and is even attending the morning and evening walk-throughs. The evening walk-through went until nearly 10:00 PM last Friday for this reason.

Uh oh. That means one of two things happened. A very good Griz player and leader decided to disobey coaches orders, or an anonymous poster on a message board was lying.

Selfishly, I know which one of these I HOPE it is. But because I have a brain I know which choice it ACTUALLY is.

Garizzalies, I am pretty new to eGriz. It’s clear as day that many of these posters are the same person. They even answer each other’s posts with praise, or to stick up for one another when attacked. I’m sure you know exactly who I am referring to. So many lies and misinformation. This is really weird…or some might call it narcissistic!

I’m sure you know exactly who I am referring to. So many lies and misinformation. This is really weird…or some might call it narcissistic!

I barely have the energy for ONE account, let alone keeping up a ruse like that….not sure how these folks do it.
