Fake Recruiting Page

Totally understand that. I tried to specify that I was only questioning the ticket holder part. You said “doner, booster, ticket holder, etc” and while I agree with the first two, I don’t understand how a ticket holder’s actions could result in a penalty for the athletic department.
Season ticket holders are considered boosters, to my knowledge.

Do you forget when the Griz got hit with violations due to boosters bailing them out of jail and when fans gave them hotdogs and stuff at the tailgate?
The Missoula mom of a player got a call from the grandpa of an out of state player, asking if she would help get his grandson out of jail. This was in the middle of the night. She then got a call from the person bailing him out, that another player was also in jail and should he bail out the other player. She said yes. The grandpa had said he would repay her at the next game. The ncaa rule or interpretation apparently says that the mom should have been repaid within something like 5 days, and the "loan" last a few days longer than that. Thus, a violation.

The cold hotdog that was about to be thrown out was given to Peter Nugyen an hour or so after a game, when he stopped at the tailgate of parents of his friend, a player.

Compared to NIL today, this all so laughable. It was laughable at the time too.

What about an attorney waiving fees for a player accused of rape?

It definitely could not have been a um fan trying to get MSU in trouble, and then reporting it to the NCAA but then deleting the account after realizing how quickly he would be identified. We can rule that out with absolute certainty.

That’s elaborate and hadn’t crossed my mind. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that it crossed yours as a Scumcat fan obsessed with all things UM, Griz, and eGriz.

I figured there would be a gay, low IQ response. I just didn’t know who would be first. Congratulations, I guess.

Well, now we know who was so fucking dumb they'd create such an account.

This is the type of post that makes me hate all bubcatz.
Dude’s name is “Cledus” and he posts like this.
If an outsider were to see this post, they would assume all Montanans were white trash hillbillies when in reality it’s just the dirty bubcatz while Griz fans are not nearly this dumb.

This is disgraceful. Hopefully no potential recruits have been fooled by this page and sent film/info. We are all fanatics about our respective teams, but to stoop so low that you are potentially impacting a HS or College athlete is beyond me. Help report this page to get it taken down. Be better.
This should be reported. It is a blatant ncaa infraction.

I might still notify the bubs about it. They really do need to self-report.

If for no other reason than they have the dumbest fucking fan base in America.
There were multiple fights outside bobcat stadium after their game also. Mostly real Montanans fighting fake Californians all pretending to be lifelong cat fans. Not joking.

Would you elaborate? I have no background in law. How could the athletic department be held liable for the actions of a ticket holder, on social media? I can see the argument for anybody that is/has been employed by/donated to the university, but not simply a fan (which I assume this is).
I think people have just kept saying "they are boosters" without actually elaborating on why ticket holders are boosters. I think it is from the belief that MSU does the same thing UM does where we require a GSA donation to purchase the season ticket.

Potentially. As far as I know, the Griz have two levels of season ticket that don’t require a GSA contribution (Value, Standard). The neighbors require a contribution from all levels.

That is why they are covered by NCAA rules. I was just making the connection there explicit. :)

The booster definition includes anyone "involved in promoting university athletics".

That's pretty damn broad. Does that include wearing something that says "state football"? Or telling someone how great Gameday experience is?

It's fair to assume this asahat fits the definition, and the bub athletic department should self-report this
