Facilities, strength program, analytics

You 2 fuc$tards have missed the point entirely. There are very, very few D1 athletic departments that dont have a nutrition program - or course P5 programs and conferences have them at echelon. My girls are well taken care of - monitored and on personalized programs.

That's not the point - the point is recruits do NOT choose to attend based on who has the best nutrition program. They just don't. It's not even a top 20 criteria.

I know it's hard for you guys to understand this basic sports stuff because you spent your youth building computers in your rooms.

Some of us however, are well connected to P4 athletic departments. You should read more and post less.
Based on what, the experience of your daughters? "Monitored and on personalized programs" is not necessarily a measure of quality for a Strength and Conditioning program.

You can't tell me that the chance to progress under a S/C team like Sean Herrin's at MSU is not a recruitment positive for incoming players, and their parents.

But I'm sure you will try.

It is down the list.

All Strength coaches are certified by the NSCA and have a CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist). You can't be a head guy without a 4 year degree preferably in Exercise Physiology or similar and a CSCS. To earn it, you have to have a strong foundation in the application of Olympic lifts and Power Lifting lifts for sports. Through experience and going to a lot of clinics, you learn how to design a program that benefits each respective sport. In football, you want the men to be coiled springs....explosive power from a static position etc. You use olympic movements...not full oly's but partials like hang cleans and hang snatches....sometimes hoists and yanks. These develop power but reduce risk. The last thing you want is to have ball players doing full clean and jerks or snatch and get hurt. Breaking them down into movements that mimic game day work really well. These along with Squats and different presses make up the primary movements of a program. Then you individualize based on individual needs with auxiliary exercises sets and reps.
I was thinking more along the lines of having access to the research that happens with and for the U.S. Olympic teams related to sports motion, conditioning, strength training, recovery, and nutrition. I would think at least some of it would translate to college sports and would bring the cutting edge research to the university. I'm not connected to the S&C world so not sure how fast or if all of the information is provided to the rest of the industry.

I'm happily retired! ;) To be frank, all certified coaches have the knowledge. What separates good from bad is teaching ability and having great people skills. Just like classroom teachers are all certified but can they actually teach and motivate? A good teacher imho is born not made. I'm not saying this regarding UM and their program because I don't know whats happening btw. I'm just making a general point.
wouldn't you think with UM's Master of Integrative Physiology and Athletic Training that there would be graduate assistants that could help with the S&C program at UM?

School of Integrative Physiology and Athletic Training

Exactly - these guys have main points flying over their heads and they are literally ducking.
Unless something has drastically changed in human biology since I was a 17/18 year old, the number 1 on every recruits list is the quality of the co-eds. Maybe it's number 2 or 3 now.

Athletic Training is the treatment of athletic injuries. Complementary, but they're not trained in Conditioning. Although there is a lot of crossover with the physiology side of things.

It absolutely does and yes, we absorb all of that. Those same coaches at the Olympic center are CSCS as well. So you're 100% right. All that latest pedagogy is shared, just like coaching clinics for football. In fact, the Football clinics and Strength & Conditioning clinics were combined. And at great places like New Orleans etc. Great times, lots of networking and learning going on. I met Hauck there when he was an assistant for Rick Neuheisel at Washington. I thought he was a great dude. I am not fond of his post game, but 1 on 1 he was really cool. I sat next to Rick during a Lavelle Edwards presentation.

Trashing on Hoops kid just because he's Hoops is low man. Takes a real shitty human to talk crap about somebody's kids, especially over an online football argument. Be an adult.
He posted the links to his kid, bragged he was a D1 recruit and has trashed mine for a decade or more. I try not to stoop to his level very often but couldn't resist.

You should go to your own board and chant ESGGCG with your favorite Senator!

I didn't post links to my kid nor mention is name. You are a liar and total jerk. And actually 2 of our kids were named, as well as my wife. In response to a question or comment about recruiting level/nutrition and after some trashing of D3, I said my kid had also been recruited by D1. No bragging at all. Here are some facts. Every once in a while, Justin Green asks about my son, due to earlier contact. My son was contacted by several D1 schools late in the game and had one visit. Also, Pflu set up a visit for him to ASU in connection a planned visit to AU (informal visit). ASU said he could join a small group later to earn a walk-in spot. And, without applying for it, a $10,000 per year academic scholarship showed up from ASU. Probably not related to anything. I didn't want him to go to ASU. I wanted my son to go to a good school, so we visited an Ivy and a couple D3's.

Why do you have to make up stuff and tell lies? Why do you chase me around on egriz? What's wrong with you?

I am not aware of any other poster's kids or wives being named on egriz. None have ever been linked. When I get back home from my trip, I am going to go after 5280 with the mods and identify all of his inappropriate posts.

The point was the article had a quote from a transfer from Idaho who said Nebraska’s nutrition program was the primary reason why he transferred there.
Right. A dude playing for Idahoe transfers to Nebraska and the primary reason is the nutrition program. 🤡

Idahoe Big Sky Conference - FCS. Nebraska BIG - FBS.

Read your posts out loud or run them by someone with at least half a brain before you post.

GMAFB! Hoops not only brought his family into the discussion, he was trashing other people’s family before anyone besides Hoops mentioned his. The 75 year old is the one spewing bs and needs to grow up.
I have never posted poster’s kids name or trashed someone else’s kid or family. Show us the post. Mouse once posted on the board that his son sat on the bench in sub-D1 hoops. You named 2 of my kids and pisses the link to bio and photo. And Mouse is such a dumbass that the can’t see that you made n that post. I assume you will be hearing from the mods soon.

And Mouse, give me a public apology. And correct your post.

A new low for posting about someone's kid on eGriz.com. You are on the path to a long, long timeout...

Zero credibility and zero character.
He posted on one and named 2, including the age of one. 5280 needs to be banned. He is out of control and disrupting the board.

He can bring him up without anybody needing to insult him. Again, act like an adult, even if others aren't.
And, I DIDN'T bring my kids into the discussion. I mentioned that my kids played college sports and recruited, and thus I know first hand about the game of recruiting. Lots of posters have mentioned their kids have played college sports. Soldier did recently, in the same manner as I did. Multiple others have over the years. Except 5280, no poster has named those kids or posted links about them. NONE. Totally inappropriate and against the site rules. I assume this is basicallly what you are indicating.

Your reply to 5280 showed the link and photo. So you did post it. I understand concern about his name surfacing but if you were so concerned why reply and link the photo yourself? And then....continue on the ramble about the unfortunately revealed son with more personal info most people could care less about. After picking his high schools and colleges for him what kind of underwear did you let him wear?
