Expectations

The article is very positive on the O. I too have been positive on the O. I knew they had all the receivers and backs returning, plus a new back. And 6 lineman with many starts, 2 FBS transfers and a new coach. Grossman returning, to a good returning TE group. And some talented qb's, one with FBS experience. The only losses from last season are 2 good o-lineman, 1 good o-lineman who was hurt most of season, and McDowell.

If the Griz have mediocre/good QB play I expect a seed and a quarterfinals playoff game.

If the Griz have good/great QB play I expect the opportunity to play for a national championship.

In Both scenarios the Griz will be in a position to win the Conference.

Expectations are high, and it feels right. RTD.

21 days to get better… 105 days to get better… 149 days to get better… Go Griz!

Every season, my expectations are, no less than final 8.

This season, no less than semi finals.

Biggest keys to this year's team are quality replacements at Center and DT.

Arguably the best overall coaching staff in the BSC.
As much or more talent than any roster in the BSC.
At least one of the Qubes will display vast improvement over last season...hopefully two so there isn't a massive drop off in case of injury.
The defense will once again be well coached and effective.
The new offensive line coach and infusion of talent will elevate that side of the ball.
Talent at all of the skill positions on offense.
As per usual the STs will be a strength.
Dominant win over MSU.
Only a freak rash of injuries will keep the Griz from being undefeated during the pre-season and the conference schedule.
Not sure the Griz can win it all but I can easily see them back in Frisco.
Another great year to be a Griz fan.
Simple.

Even Stevie Wonder can 'see' the Griz have a 'pat hand' this year, players, coaches, and FANS/VENUE. But, football ain't poker, and the season is long. All the pieces are there for a damn satisfying result in Frisco. Bobby, you're UP!👍

Yet can’t produce any NFL guys

More Griz to NFL in last 25 years than Cats. No Cat made what Tru Johnson did. No Cat franchise players. Griz have multiple coaches who played and coached in NFL. Johnson probably made more money than all of the Cat NFL players in last 25 years. Maybe ever.

By far the best coaching staff in Big Sky and FCS.

Please don't engage with him.

I have read a lot of good posts in this thread and I'm glad we finally got a thread where we can talk about the team we love and cheer for without all the other BS being inserted in. Well, for the most part but of course a couple of morons did insert more stupidity but Ive got so used to ignoring whatever they say when I see their name.
Regarding the season, this is just my opinion on what I think will transpire. Some may agree and some may not but this is just what I see with the limited info we have had up to this point.
I honestly believe this season is different then many other previous seasons and it's different in a very good way. One big reason we should be very good this year is because of the amount of time spent away from practice and workouts were far less this past season then previous ones.
Last season ended in Jan.7 and then right into spring at the end of March. Then having mandatory Summer workouts run by the players but scheduled by the coaches is huge. Not a lot of football programs only allow the kids to spend 2 weeks at home in the beginning of Summer and then right back to work for the duration of the Summer which is basically 2 1/2 months of work
I don't know if many people understand how big that is for any program but especially ours. Football for these kids is a year round job with a small window for vacation. So when Fall camp started, you heard Hauck and even Pease say they feel really good about where the team and offense is at. They even mentioned they felt that they are ahead of where they usually are coming into Fall camp.
I truly believe no other team works harder than us and all this hard work will pay off in the long run.
Regarding the offense, everyone has had their opinions on the QBs and this is mine. We need a QB who is smart and can read the defense and the multiple looks opposition teams will throw at us. He needs to be able to read the defensive front and put the RBs in the right position by calling the correct run according to the defensive front they see and the gaps they are trying to fill.
I don't think most people realize the runs they choose aren't just dive right, counter left or toss right option left. The QB has to come to the line read the coverage and the defensive front along with the LB positioning and then call the correct running play all within 35 seconds . This is an example of what Pease means when he wants to get the QBs to the point where they are running the show.
The strength of our offense this year is our wide receivers and slots, followed by our RBs. Like I said before we need a smart QB who can read defenses and spread the ball to our playmakers. And this year our receivers as a collective our the biggest playmakers.
If we can spread the ball around to our playmakers and compliment it with our strong running game then there will be no defense that can stop us. Our top 3 receivers should have 1,000 yards ea this year and the 4th top receiver should have anywhere between 6-800. Our top RB should crack 1,000 this year but if our QB is one of the top 2 rushers on the team then this offense isn't doing what it should be.
I have no doubt that our special teams will be taken care of. We might not score as much this year if opp teams are smart. A lot of teams will try to kick away from Junior but our special teams will still put our team in good spots.
My hope with the defense is that they are the heart and backbone of the team like they were last year. We lost some great players but also added some good ones as well. Defense wins championships! And I believe our DC.will have the defense performing better than last year. I honestly think this defense will create more turnovers this year then last and should be at the top of almost all defensive categories throughout the year. Coach Hauck did a great job at bringing in a few extra coaches to the staff to help bring this team over that final hump.
I think when it's all said and done we will shock some people. I think if the players and coaches stay focused, don't get complacent and they can all stay healthy, then it should be no surprise if we get back to Frisco and win it all.

Difference is cats are getting guys into the NFL recently. Cats have Kidd, Anderson, McCutcheon, Okada, and Hardy who played within 4 years ago. If we want to count Toure then cats can add Bauman. In the last four the gris have Gubner and O’Connell unless I’m missing any.

So the qb who starts… who has never started for the griz… is going to smash the FCS passing yards record? You will have 2-3 guys splitting touches there is a very low chances a RB hits 1000 that way. Gilman got high 900s and got 2/3 of the touches. Crazy take

Most of your listed guys aren't actually playing in NFL games, like Toure and Anderson. Why don't you show us the number of regular season games played by the group you mentioned? But yes, the Cats have had more free agent contracts in last 4 years. Anderson is very good, but he will never have the success that Tru Johnson had. Two-time franchise player designee.

Gillman didn't even get half of the carries of the running backs, let alone the rooms. Stop making up stuff.

UM's OC on Griz QB's:

"We're getting the quarterbacks to where they're running the show and they're good at what they need to do. Not just good, but the best in the league and the best in the nation," said Pease.

"They're all very talented kids and I think that's something they have the ability to do."

Agreed but being in the NFL shows you have the skill and ability. Singleton has had a great NFL career and has recently gotten better. Anderson just needs to get more time
