Expectations for this season?

There are 3 different types of fans on here. Pro Bobby, anti Bobby and the realist.

Pro Bobby will say we have upgraded at QB, DLine, secondary, coaching etc. any record is okay. He doesn’t have his players yet

Anti Bobby will say he ran off good players, moral is low etc. losing record to be expected

Realist(And where I Fall into) All American QB is gone. The two most productive Defensive players are done. One injured, the other run off. It’s not out there yet but 2 starting Olinemwn are out, one for a while and the other not sure how long.
The schedule is easier this year with no UW, NAU, EWU or Weber on it. Winning less than 8 games will be a total failure.

5 wins at best

There is more depth at QB. Who said d-line was upgraded? Answer: no one. No newcomer has arrived. Secondary was upgraded by bringing in 3 new safeties, 2 from FBS.

Morale is very high. No one has said anything about low morale. The QB wasn't even all-conference, even mention, I don't think. Hardly an all-American. Was beaten out in spring ball. Sims and Buss are the 2 best defensive players, and yes Buss is hurt. I call BS on 2 o-lineman being out. Don't agree on the schedule. 2 total cream puffs are not on the schedule this year.

I know you are just a troll, but I thought I would showwhat a dumb troll you were.

Maybe I can shed some light on this.

1) they are down two starting lineman. I will inbox you.

2) Jensen wasn’t beat out. In fact the conversation he had with Hauck when asking for release. Went something like this... Jensen asked for release. Hauck said you are our guy. Jensen said he didn’t get a 1st team snap all spring. Hauck said maybe we went to far with the head games.
A little to late. Hauck knew what he had or he wouldn’t have blocked him for what essentially be the rest of his career.

Just because Favoroso isnt on the team doesn’t take away from what he did last year and he would have been the 2nd most productive returner despite playing almost 4 games less in snaps then any other returning starter.

Thanks. What I am hearing indirectly from the coaches on Jensen isn't consistent with your 2d para. I have not talked directly to any coaches directly about Jensen. Interesting. In the spring game, and in a few practices, my opinion was that Sneed was better than Jensen. But I was never as high on Jensen as some fans/posters were. I liked him and thought he had very nice potential, but, for example, I thought Phillips was considerably better than Jensen.

If Jensen is so great, why didn't any FBS or even FCS teams want to sign him? After all, he was a "freshman All-American" right? The Bobcat QB signed with Oregon, a top 10 FBS team at that time, but no FBS team wanted Jensen, with 3 years to play??? Go figure. Willie Pflug....or won't he Pflug....that is the question. I think won't he Pflug is more likely.

In order to not sit out this fall (and lose his 2d year of playing), he needed to go to a JC. By doing what he did, he will get to play for 4 years (not 3) and will be able to go the "right" school next year. Had he gone to an FCS or FCS school for this year, he would have had to sit out the year and then be subject to whomever they brought in as qb the following, as well as to the potential development of players on the roster during the year he had to sit.

So, I wouldn't say that no FCS or FBS school wanted him. I assume a number did. I think he made a good choice and got to a terrific JC. Now, he has to compete, start and continue to improve.

And, you know how the conversation with Hauck went? Were you there? I call bullsh*t on your post.

Agreed. GTFO of here troll

You actually kept reading after "Went something like this..."

The truth hurt much? Guess it doesn’t fit your agenda.

Three people were in the room. Haven’t heard Rosie or Bobby’s recollection of the meeting. Have no reason to guess the 3rd person is lying

I'm less concerned about the record and more concerned about seeing some intensity and swagger back out on the field. I think they could be anywhere from 6-5 to 8-3, but how they compete will be an indication of future success.

I also have expectations for the fans to step up their game. WA Griz has felt more like a golf gallery the past few years than a football stadium. I expect some loudness and coldness in WA Griz this season!

There were probably 6+ losses over Stitts Tenure that the Griz could have won purely had they played harder, both Cat losses, Northern Colorado come to mind.

I’ll be disappointed if we win fewer than 6 games, but I do think our schedule this year could end up a lot more difficult than last year’s was.

Lol @ anyone being happy with 4-7.

That said, just like every year, I hope we win every game.

I also expect to drink a lot of Cold Smoke on game day, either at a tailgate or on my couch.

Griz will have at least 9 wins... One thing I've learned from the site 99% of posters have the dumbest f***[*] predictions ever.

You, son, fail to realize that your prediction is totally in that 99%.

No most are saying 6-5 or 7-4... learn how to read son

I would say smarter not harder. 3rd & 31 comes to mind. The blown coverage on the opening UNC drive (which was abysmal to watch)...I think they were playing “hard”, but not real great schemes....and Semore never seemed to figure it out (or the O-coordinators easily figured HIM out...

Now that's an expectation I can get behind. Although, I don't drink Ketlehouse beer anymore. Their owner is a cat sympathizer. A good Bayern or Big Sky brew will work well though. :thumb:

Thanks for bringing up that turd. But actually all the conversions on 3rd and (insert number over 15 here) about drove me crazy during the Stitt regime. Talk about deflating and a momentum buster.

Way to many unknowns to really gauge this team. I’m going to guess 5-3 in conference play and 7-4 over all without a playoff bid. That’s assuming Buss may not be available, the Calhoun situation doesn’t turn out in our favor (I have no idea what’s up there) and the offensive line has a steep learning curve. What I expect is a team that plays hard for 4 quarters and never quits. Regardless I’m excited for this season.....
Go Griz!

interesting that Jensen would tell you this story when he has told quite a few others different stories.

He’s implying your prediction of at least 9-2 is dumb. Reading comprehension, son.

Bobby knows how to win. He may not have won the Championship as much as we would have liked, but he knows how to win the Big Sky. I see us at least tied for the BSC champions, and two playoffs.
But as long as we are making progress, I'll be happy.

or at all..

Let's not forget Bobby in his first season took a program running on all cylinders, fresh off of a runner-up, a championship, and an 11-3 season, and lost at home to a DII, lost to the Cats, lost to a WIU team, gave us our sole loss to Idaho State in recent times, beat a much worse (albeit FBS) Idaho program at home, while boasting one of the best Griz QBs of all time (for part of the season). In a much, much worse Big Sky conference.

Now he has a program and school going through all sorts of shit for the last 6 seasons, two valley teams, a Bobcat team that has embarrassed us two years in a row and should only be better, a Cal Poly program that gives us fits every damn time we play them, Southern Utah, improved Sac State, etc.

Go Griz!

I was under the impression that the Calhoun situation is resolved and that he will be playing this fall. Did I miss something or possibly jump the gun too soon?

It is more that a statement such as "Went something like this..." doesn't carry the same punch as a statement like "This is how it went" or "It went like this". And even so, unless you were one of the 3 in the room, you are still relaying the story second hand from a biased party. I don't know what actually went down since I was not in the room, but maybe I have heard things about how the Spring played out too, and I am not here to say that the coaches may not have pushed the envelope and it didn't quite work out as they hoped, but GJ is far from the innocent victim and played a pretty important role in the entire thing. TBH, it bothers me absolutely zero that GJ took his ball and went home...

If you ask me, the key to happiness is lowering your expectations until they're just slightly too low. So I'm expecting a 6-5 season, followed by twelve national championships in a row.

Ahhh now I see your point. Phrasing is important, son.
