I'm curious as to why said legacy player didn't just walk on at the U as you say he did in Bozeman.

Stitt wouldn't even return his calls. He was recruited, treated with respect and given a preferred walk-on at MSU. Greg, John and the whole family now wear MSU gear and will have nothing to do with the UM program. I tried to get Bob, their dad, to come to the EWU game with us, but he wouldn't even think about it. I have never known the Fitzgeralds to react this way; they had to be rudely mistreated.

I knew a Griz family back in the day who's son was offered a track scholarship at UM and told he could walk on for football. He went to MSU competing in both sports but was able to say he had a football scholarship. Pride is a funny thing for kids, apparently it justified him playing on a losing team and not being part of the 2001 Griz championship team.

Can anyone assure GRIZ NATION a realistic viable option to replace Stitt, that can and will meet the very high expectations some fans have? Meaning, have the results you want, immediately, just as you want and demand from Stitt.

Immediately?? This is the tail end of year three.

Remember, Stitt had a great win over NDSU and a playoff win over South Dakota state in his first year. He's had terrible luck with QB's but "his guys" (Reece and Gresch) have shown that his offense can produce consistently with the right guy at the helm. Losing Calhoun during our stretch run last year killed us. If you look at the circumstances that have led to some of the difficulties there's reason to exercise a little patience here. Losing Jensen is going to complicate things even more. If we get Jensen back and beat UNC and Ag State, I don't see how you can justify letting Stitt go. Semore, maybe, if we need a scapegoat...

Yup losing five games a year is just "terrible luck." The HC's that beat us don't have such luck. You talk only about offense. In DI, it takes more than offense to win games. Give a report card to defense and STs and ask again for more patience. The Brand is slipping away.

I love winning and hate losing. I think Stitt can win a lot of games for us and his style of offense will allow us to make some serious noise at the national level. You can't ground and pound against NDSU, James Madison, etc and expect to beat them.

The Montana Brand will be fine as long as the fan base doesn't turn it's back on the team. There is no bigger brand in the NFL than the Dallas Cowboys, but it has more to do with their fan base than with their W-L record. Stay with Stitt through next year, by then we'll know for sure if he's the guy...

Not going to defend Stitt, but I saw many PLAYERS quit. And I still don't think the Griz have all this overall talent that everyone keeps singing praises about, and that started before Stitt got here.

I watched the Weber game on TV, and the camera panned to the Griz bench at least 3-4 times in the first half to see players laughing and smiling, when the Griz were down big-time and playing very poorly. That picture was proof enough for me that this team lacks the former will to win which former Griz teams had. I was so pissed when #5 fumbled the KO return and was yucking it up on the sidelines immediately afterward with the camera squarely on him! WTF! How can any fan justify that behavior, and why is he still returning KOs?

K. Guess I missed all the laughing. Saw no. 5. Posted after his second fumble that I would replace him on KO team. They did.

I judge how hard a team plays by how they play on the field, not by camera shots of the sidelines. Maybe someone made a funny comment. Maybe someone farted. While I too didn't like seeing no. 5 laughing at that time, I don't think it's illegal to smile or laugh on the sideline during a game, even if your team is behind.

Assume this is an extreme example, but the general theme/view is not uncommon in Griz Nation. And, I can't imagine that the Fitzgerald family hasn't been one of the biggest supporting Griz families around. Hooked obviously doesn't have a clue based on what he speculated about this family.

Actually, Yes this is speaking for all ex-players You know what Cat week is all about. To get destroyed by the worst Cat team in history is an embarrassment.

Role out the old standby injury excuse once again, like we are the only college football team that has had to compete with back-ups at key positions. North Dakota State did not need that excuse when Wentz was injured for half the season. They have lost their All-America LB, and one of the best D-linemen in the FCS, but they just man-up and keep the train rolling. Did you hear the NDSU fan base whining about the loss of Wentz for half of the Griz win against them in 2015? I didn't. Stay classy and prove to the FCS universe of fans that we are not the whiniest fan base in America, like our reputation is purported to be.

I want a coach that says with authority "we are going to win" , we are going to run down there throat ", we are going to kick there asses , "we are going b to throw over the top " we are going to man handle them in the trenches " we don't give a fuck who they are . That's how are teams of the past used to do it ! Not the "were going to try and beat them "( in a nerdy voice ) boy gosh darn there tough but we're gonna give it are all . Fuck that I want to see us kick there ass up and down the field and then do it again ( you know " I wish there was a 5th quarter so we can kick there ass some more ")
Hell I bet if you told super genius Stitt there was some study or analysis that's says if you sniff your opponents jock strap it would give you a .0012 chance of beating them he'd be dropping to his knees pretty quick .
I've been saying all along swagger and DOLA and we have none of it .

As for the kid laughing my guess is it was not funny laughing. I know i have seen many kids who will laugh to try and keep from crying in traumatic situations.its a nervous response not entirely something one can control.

Xgriz- if you are going to make the salacious comments on here they you have made, as an "ex player" you should have the balls to put your name on it. I call bull shit on you.

Toughness??? This team could have easily rolled over. They came out in the 2nd half showed extreme toughness. Weber didn't call off the dogs. They didn't go into a prevent offense or defense.

If you know anything about football you would know momentum is a very real thing in a game. Even with all the TO's, personal fouls and targeting calls it was one shit call that would flipped the momentum but instead added to Webers. It was the the QB simulating the snap call. Instead of 1st and goal it went to 3rd and long and the next play was an Int in the end zone that was returned a long way which resulted ina 14 point swing.

Lastly, even if you were an ex player(which I doubt) nobody gives a shit what you think. What matters is what the players on THIS team think and they love their coaches and teamates and showed it yesterday by not having any quit in them. The defense was great in the second half and their Freshman QB did make mistakes which is to be expected but he showed tremendous toughness and resilience. He fought like hell to the very end.
