Spoken like someone with zero clue what the uniform color means.
It means someone had to come up with an idea and there was a good NIKE deal. You try too hard to be an asshole.

You just outed yourself as the real asshole. What a douche you are.

46 fouls. Eastern was way bigger. They had a 6’7” and a 6’6” guards. They were a good team. We didn’t shoot worth a shite. Good crowd

Exactly. Shooting 33 percent on good looks and trying to overcome the guys in stripes. The shooting will balance out and I could see the GRIZ winning this going away.

But for the officiating.... #bsc.

It won't matter, because in case you haven't you heard there's a well kept secret I've been privileged to hear,...it's that every referee in every sport in every game that the griz or lady griz participate in all belong to the same club...#weallhatethegrizzlies#.. :

I don't think anyone hates Montana. I mean, who would? I just think that much like bsc leadership and 97% of the 300 teams in this conference, the officials suck shit.

There are 3 programs that have absolutely been devastated by coaching changes and/or transfers/graduation in the last two years (EWU, MSU, UNC) all currently with better or similar records.

Is it just me?

You legit think there are 300 teams in the big sky conference..Holy poop.

In terms of offense, Thomas, Whitney and Vasquez were productive, Moody had 11 pts in 4-11 shooting; he seems to have lost some of his spark in recent games. Oke was in foul trouble, and so Sawyer stepped in with 11.

Seemed like one of the big problems, as it has been in recent games, is bench production. Williams, Nap and Jones were just 1 of 15. They threw up a lot of bricks. Yikes.

From what I can tell, at least four of the starting five will be gone next season. I am thinking and hoping Whitney has one more year of eligibility. Given the shaky, thus far, performance of bench players other than Sawyer, it is hard to be real optimistic about next season. I realize Money should be back, but there is reason is for concern.

As a team, UM shot 34% from the floor, 23% from beyond three-point line. When facing a zone defense with EWU’s length, that’s not a recipe for success. Need to hit outside shots.

…you can blame coaching…
…you beat the zone with the pass…
…theory of basketball 101…

8-)

Actually you beat the zone with paint touches - whether it's via the pass or dribble penetration. Just passing the ball around doesn't do a thing to distort a good zone defense.

…sir with all due respect…
…3/4 quick passes destroy a zone…
…maybe get that Theory of B-ball 101 out…

In order to get quality touches in the paint, you need to hit more jump shots. EWU collapsed in the lane because EWU was not forced to defend the perimeter.

EWU relentlessly posts up 6 6 guards for the umpteenth consecutive time against UMs 6 3 guys. Pretty simple.

6 6 guards aren't allowed in Missoula.

Whitney has really upped his game this year by becoming more of a threat from outside. He finds the open spot, and when he gets the ball, squares off, and follows through. Has gotten pretty deadly from 3 spot.

The younger players had some pretty open shots from 3, but don't seem to be squaring off and following through like Whitney does. Maybe he could give them some lessons.

Or the Huard sisters. I was just watching a short thing MTN did on their experiences with the Lady Griz, and the camera kept showing them shooting 3s. Nice form. Perhaps their father drilled that into them.

From what I can see, you will be losing 5 of your top 7 players. The Griz were set up to win this year, similar to PSU. Next year you will be rebuilding around Whitney and Williams. I would expect to see a few drop down transfers. That can go either way.

Plus this year is a fairly weak Big Sky. I was just thinking about this last night. Last year was a tough Big Sky.

Venters (Gonzaga)
Allegri (G League)
Battle (WVU)
Brown and Osobar (starters on Top 20 ranked USU)
Belo (BSC DPOY and POY/Overseas pro)
Jones (still being Dillon Jones)
Knecht (potential lottery pick - Tennessee)
Isaac Jones (16p/8r at WSU)
Moffitt (overseas pro)
Bannan (Australian top league)
Parker (overseas pro)
Cone (14ppg at Cal)
Kountz (overseas pro)
Johnson II (overseas pro)

This is an ideal time to have a chance to win the conference.

I disagree that it is a weak conference this year. Sure, good players left, they do every year, but good players came in as well. Overall, the league is more balanced and a bit stronger. There are not any gimme games in the BSC this year. If you are not playing well you are going to lose. It's that simple.

Other than whistle-happy refs, the description of this game sounds (in some respects) too similar to Monday night in Portland. EWU’s defensive spacing is damn good; they get out on shooters and in on drivers like there’s 6 on the floor. That kind of defense is something usually bound to win a conference tournament.

Portland State is defensively athletic, but EWU not waiting for the defense to set later on made the difference.
