I think it will be difficult for EWU to beat WSU in their home opener. The offense will have to play much better than it did against Idaho IMO. Way too many dropped passes and drive killing penalties. With the steep learning curve Padron has I don't know that a week will be enough time to provide the needed improvement to beat WSU. They will be much better than Idaho, I am sure of that.
On the flip side, our defense is pretty solid so maybe they can keep us in the game long enough for our offense to figure some things out.
I think this team has a lot of potential but like I said we need some improvement in the passing game. Padron is athletic, has a great pocket presence, and throws a great ball but needs time to grasp the system, which is much different than at SMU. Some of th plays he made had more to do with him just making isht happen than it did a solid grasp of the offense. But if he does...uh oh - I think this will be a dangerous team.
