EWU/UNI Game Thread

I hate that siren...geezus, their whole freaking shitty shtick at e-who is a freaking joke...

Wow, a 6-5 team got bounced... Shocker!

The ultimate wish for me would be the NC against the Knittens, but I think they get bounced next week.

Anyone see anything here that worries you?

Just their offensive makeup in general, EWU doesn't give 2 shits if they can run or not especially since we excel there, they will spend this week digging out everything in the book and probably coming up with new crap for Barriere to try to pick us apart.

Make no mistake we are going to have our hands full with him, it's going to take a great effort by the defense to slow him down, pass rush and secondary better lace them up tight.

I think we'll be ok on offense, as long as it doesn't become a track meet. Trading scores isn't really our thing.

EWU didn't look that great but they did enough to win. Uni had about 5 different chances to win that game.

UT Martin just got screwed by the blind idiot officials. Their RB was headed for a TD, but they called him down... Wasn't even bloody close. No review.

99% of officials are worthless. If I had any in the family, I would never talk to those maggots.

And Mo State has a first down on their 40 and try four consecutive 25 yard+ passes downfield, including on 4th and 1. WTF kind of play calling is that, Petrine?

Well, you just answered that.

UNI had every opportunity in the world to win this game and couldn’t. Twice they get first and goal inside the 5 and couldn’t convert. The first time they run it up the gut 3 straight plays and then go for it on 4th down and their QB gets his shit rocked. The second time they were just afraid of the clock and would only pass. No creativity from UNI on either of those possessions.

Then midway through the third they spontaneously switch QB’s. Their starter had a noticeable limp, but the broadcast credited the change to the fact that this guy could throw the deep ball better, yet he was never able to connect on a deep ball and they stuck with him. Now if they actually pulled the starter because he was hurt then I get it, but I thought this guy was a worse thrower then the first guy.

UNI was able to run the ball with ease and when their QB’s were actually capable of making the throw, they got good yardage out of it. Easterns not gonna be able to run the ball the way they did today against us, but we’ll have our hands full with the pass game despite the fact Eastern wanted to run the ball today.

Eastern’s got a quick 5 day turnaround so we’ll see how they handle that. Hopefully we were able to rest and get guys healthy with this time off. Should be a hell of a game. We’ll see how they handle the atmosphere. Show up and do your part Griz nation. Go Griz!

22 carries for 108 yards, 3.4 yards per carry which I’m guessing is below their season average. I don’t think I’d say they ran with ease.

UNI definitely didn't run it with ease when they really needed it. The stats may not show it but EWUs D made the critical plays they needed.

Great post. We already played them so I think the 5 day is less a factor other than the normal week to week prep. Don't think it'll matter much
