I underestimated egriz. I thought you had exhausted all the ways you could complain about EWU. You are such big thinkers.

You think you underestimated egriz wait till our teams meet again this weekend. Oh boy, are you in for a surprise.

Do you mean complaining about EWU purposely preventing Griz fans from attending the game and then lying about the motivation to the media? Yeah. Wild that some Griz fans might have some comments about that.

I have zero problem with this. Their choice to bring in extra stands or not. If we want to avoid this in the future, the answer is pretty simple, we need to be a higher seed than EWU. If we win more games in the regular season than they do, we wouldn't face this issue. In the meantime we should stop bitching.

Less surprised by this than Box's sentiments. For the last time, It's not about EWU's actual prerogative to do this. Nobody debates that they have the option. It's about the fact that they are foregoing a shit ton of money to prevent Griz fans' attendance. For a program subsidized by nearly three quarters taxpayer money, it's very strange. They basically said "we would rather rob some more wages than pull in some bleachers out at a clip far less than the marginal revenue we and the local businesses would realize." Dumb. Period. Full stop.

We have more posters on a random Tuesday evening in May than you drew to THREE playoff games.

I think it's fair to say that Foolerton over-estimated your "program" when he invited you into the conference.

hallelujah! hallelujah! :thumb: I can't understand why Griz fans would think EWU would make it easier to get tickets to this game. The revenue would be nice, but not so substantial it should move the needle. A playoff game should be a "home" game if your lucky/good enough to have that advantage. I would expect that team to do as much as possible to make that happen. If they were drawing huge crowds at Joe Albi, they wouldn't have left for campus. Get over it, they aren't going to cater to Griz fans. I've heard over here boosters scooped up tickets. Good for them. It's good if they develop a fan base.

So you are going to provide an in depth analysis of all the benefits Spokane and Cheney would have enjoyed if only EWU had treated the griz fans fairly. I guess EWU doesn’t know how to cater to an “elite” program.

I did. And the fact that you question whether 3,000 extra people from out of town attending the game would be beneficial for the community is kind of unbecoming. Is yours a serious post?

There would probably be thousands of more tickets to be sold. So yea, potential/actual boosters/donors could suffer. Personally I understand if you're in a good enough standing financially. I would imagine EWU figures they'll win this game and have another to work with. But clearly they're losing a money making opportunity, by alot.

Well I think this is the first time I have heard an egriz poster exaggerate the size of EWU's stadium.

Maybe you should read the thread. Your AD made it happen multiple times in the past. Not doing it now and then lying about the reasons why is supremely an EWU move. No big deal. EWU can do what it wants. But the disregard for having extra attendees, and the attendant benefit to the community, is something that boggles the mind of one who realizes who funds the program. That's all.

I suggest you start a petition. Isn't that what griz fans do when they get their noses a little bent out of shape?

I have zero problem with this. I also assume the Fecals fans won't mind when we make next year's game our 55 game and provide them very few seats.

It was mentioned that not only could season ticket holders buy additional tickets but bought them at discounted price. I think it was a $5.00 discount per extra ticket. If this is true it shows a total disregard for sportsmanship and I hope Montana's athletic dept. brings it to light. Anyone else hear this?

Grizbeer said:
So if I read this right there were 4500 tickets sold to season ticket holders at a discount, maybe $20 a ticket? 3000 to students, maybe $5 a ticket? 1100 at full price, $45 a ticket. Revenue of $90,000 + $15,000 + $49,500 = $154,500? Does that even cover the cost of putting on the game?
$18-25 was the cost to ewu fans...

And that's why there's gonna be a lot of tickets for sale at the game and lots of empty seats. They bought as many tickets as they could even though they didn't have anyone to use that ticket. They hoped they could sell them for $200 since it sold out. Tickets are getting cheaper on Craigslist every day. Saw one for $50 today.
