Ball control will help a little, but there's still a lot work to do. Going 0-3 or 1-2 to start the season will not help. It's admirable that EWU is playing a brutal schedule, but not practical for the brackets! 7-4 will get them in, but it's a tough road!
I've hated our scheduling for years now. We either play 2 FBS games a year, or one FBS game and two top 15 FCS teams every year in non-conf, its ridiculous. Its one thing to schedule tough, its another to schedule yourselves with slim playoff chances every year. Its all about the $$$ and we don't have what the Montana schools have, or even close to it, in terms of support.
If you want to know how bad our scheduling is, in 2011, the year after we won the Title and had most of our team returning, we played 4 home games, 4 freaking home games...
We get Shaq Hill back on Offense next year and he's an all conference receiver and returner who we lost in the Oregon game, may be the fastest player in the big sky and will help coverages not just focus on Coop...Our D can only improve...hopefully...
Remember: Last year MSU thought THEIR defense had nowhere to go but up...
