Everyone else gets a pass, but not the Griz

Haha, the funny thing is, you keep missing the point, I'm not talking about this loss, and I'm not on the cliff. My point is this, as I'll say ONE MORE TIME for those who refuse to read entire posts, or threads, I'm posting about three facts that are hindering the University of Montana Grizzly football PROGRAM. It's as a whole. I'm not on the cliff bhumble. I don't have to be., I know Stitt won't get fired and I know the Griz will play hard every game this season. I know both of those to be FACT, and I'll be there supporting them every step of the way. But playing with four less schollies and a third-string QB is a hinderance to this football program, and MY POINT IS, that every other program gets a pass in those situations, but Montana doesn't. Montana just doesn't get the same pass. Again, NDSU fans, and many Griz fans BELIEVE the Griz only won because Wentz got hurt and Smith didn't play. I'm saying, the Griz don't get those same kinds of excuses, down a starting QB and starting center. I'm pointing out that UM doesn't get the same pass, that even it's OWN fans are giving NDSU for losing to the Griz.

Hav,

I like you as a poster, but c'mon.

Wasn't your starting Qb playing the entire game against Cal Poly, and didn't he go out against Liberty when the Griz were already down 17? Every team in the Big Sky is missing starters... Yes, missing your Qb sucks, but you essentially lost your first two games with your starting QB. The problem is not the fact that your starting QB is out...

He's right Hav..
We would not have lost today had Gus stayed healthy and in the lineup. The good news is Simis looked great, just not enough practice reps.

Hav were you at the game today? Did you see how bad this was? Did you see the student section leave at half time and not come back? Do you know that if you are a 6th year Grad Student at UM you have never seen the Griz win a conference championship? How are Griz fans spoiled when all they expect is to win at least 1/2 the home games, and that doesn't look possible in early October? You can berate people on e-Griz all you want, or you can realize the future has passed Montana by. The students voted at half time, they gave up on Stitt ball today. This is really, really bad. Hope I proved you point.

i can't even remember the last time I've seen the student section like that. They must have had something better else to do after the first half..
My inside line on the student section said this - Griz suck, Stitt is an idiot, tired of loosing, going home.

If its that bad here, then get the F*ck out!!! Become a kitty fan and you will know what losing really means! (notice the correct spelling of losing). Spoiled rotten bandwagon riding fans like you are pathetic. You are probably a bandwagon riding seachicken fan also! Fans like you make me want to puke. F%&K OFF!!!!!

I just laughed my ass off, thanks Hammer.

marc, I don't play for Montana so no, I don't have a starting quarterback. But, you're proving my point. Go look at the game thread on your own board from UNI. See what "passes" were given by YOUR own fans when a QB got injured in that game. lmao. IN FACT, look at the multiple "we've never had injuries like this before" threads on your own board. LOL. Yes, injuries happen, and yes, good teams rise above them. I never used the injured QB as an excuse for losing to Weber today, I SAID, that falling down to your third strong QB, and not having a starting center for the entire season can HINDER that season. It can hinder a program's progress. Sigh, I gotta quit repeating myself.

Good one. Ha ha. I just passed on what a student said to me. Perhaps you were happy with today, and the last 6 years. Me? I have been a Griz fan for 40+ years. I have watched far more losses than wins. I have been there for the years when the Griz were favored to win and shit the bed. I have had my heart broken by bad losses more times than I can count. But today was the first time I was embarrassed by the Griz. If you are ok with today, perhaps you are the problem? Maybe not, maybe I am. Maybe the students who left today are. Maybe 2-2 at home 3-3 records? Not winning conference titles? 1/2 empty student sections because, well I don't know. Maybe that's ok. What was the UM football experience like when you were a student Hammer? Fuck me? Yeah, that is how today felt. Glad to hear you were satisfied with it.

Grizbeer, in all seriousness, you have EVERY right to be mad the Griz lost, You have every right to call out Stitt or the play calling or whatever you want. It's America. Go for it buddy. But honestly, if you are "embarrassed" by 18-22 year old student-athletes who literally break their bodies, and give every single ounce of themselves to play for the University of Montana, if you're embarrassed by those kids, or any student-athletes who do it the right way, like the Griz players do, then you need to take a long hard look in the mirror at what really matters in life buddy. Again, the Griz played like dog-s--t today, and Stitt got outcoached, but EMBARRASSED by those kids? Really?

Embarrassed about the program. The kids are alright.

Maybe, just maybe, they left a sucky performance. But unlike fans who pay the whole freight(standard ticket rates, GSA premiums, travel LONG distances to come and relive the UM experience), their total costs are relatively little, AND have better things to do, like preparing for their future. Just a guess.
Actually, student attendance could be used as a barometer of team/coaching staff performance.

Where did I say I was satisfied with it?? Bandwagon fan with a reading comprehension problem to boot? When I went to school the games were at Dornblazer and a 6-5 season was a great season. Im not happy with the situation either but the last thing Im going to do is throw the team I love under the bus! You were embarrassed by the Griz today, and I'm embarrassed that you call yourself a Griz fan!!!

Bozeman is 180 miles east. I hear they are looking for fans. You would fit in really well!

A few posters need to take chill pills and relax. According to some posters, the Griz can't do anything right. They are damned if they do, damned if they don't...

But we're not playing the best teams in the country and losing, we're playing weber f***ing state and losing!!! At home!!!! Because our f***ing head coach won't kick a goddam field goal. This could have been an ugly win, but instead is an ugly loss due to our coaches inability to take the easy points and lean on the defense
You took the words right out of my mouth!!!

Nice try Hammer, we know a deflect when we see it. Rumor has it he's buying a lot in Belgrade.

Man some griz fans can be funny, they think somehow if they throw themselves on the ground and have a fit after every loss that will help the griz win. Div I football is an incredibly demanding sport. It is a gruelling season for the players involved. It is a game of attrition and it's all hands on deck by the end of the season. Teams like Weber State or any other team in the BSC have Div I athletes on their roster that come to compete just like the griz do, most of which were the best athletes in their respective schools and conferences and they also play to win. College football week to week can be an emotional roller coaster and it is very difficult to peak every week, sometimes you're in a valley and their is a let down. Sometimes teams just match up bad. Grow up people, I think most of you have become completely desensitized as to what is actually going on when these teams take the field. There are no easy wins in the BSC and we are going through a little plateau with a new coach.

Awesome, so I can blame Eastern's two losses on the fact West came out in the 2nd half..

You realize Eastern played with 7 starters out against MSU and 6 against Sac. Its called next man up...

and the Griz would be the LAST team i'd expect to make excuses for injuries...

If you look at the Big Sky schedule so far, you see a lot of parity. No team really emerging, and maybe Sac State and Nor Colorado the only real weak links. So yeah, I think the season kinda will be a game of attrition, with the healthier terms finishing strong.

As far as Stitt's aggressiveness, I think it contributed in a huge way to our win over NDSU, but unfortunately it contributed hugely to a loss today. But I still think it will produce more wins than losses over time. Only time will tell.

By the way, when someone has a different viewpoint than you, it's not called a "freak show". It's called a message board. If you want your own opinion bounced back at you, practice talking to a mirror.

Go get em, Hav. You are right in everything, most everything, you are saying. I am enjoying watching you kick the ass of all of these negative guys, especially CV. And for you negative guys, let me know which one of you wants to disagree and take me on. I'd be happy to support Hav and help kick your asses too. I'm not going to stay up too late, but I'm ready to roll. Bring it on.
