Evan Fucking Shafer

I really wanted him to truck the defender. That defender has to be thankful, he slipped before contact. Also, would love to see him on defense.
He was trying to bring his feet in to lower the boom on him. Heard him on Ace’s show talking about it and wouldn’t say he’s the biggest hitter on the team, but did say he prides himself on how hard he hits. Still remember watching that Delaware hit in the stadium. Absolute freight train.

Say it louder for the people in the back! Such a weapon for us. As mentioned above, I too wish he had kept his feet on that pass, there was a 3 car pile up about to happen 😂
I brought this up after week 2 to the pod guys about how lucky we were he got an extra year of eligibility with this RB room and they brushed it off. He is a key piece to the offense that makes the motor run. Need Titus to step up next year and do the same. Also, never expected a wideout to be the guy in there delivering the boom around the LOS but Ian Finch has become the new age FB and has laid the wood to people all year in offense and special teams. That is the epitome of Montana tough.

You are spot on man. And what continues to shock me is the podsters continue to diminish how good we are in the trenches, meanwhile the 2 studs you mention are unquestionably the best at their craft in our conference and perhaps the nation. I received a txt mid game from one of them proclaiming "we aren't good enough in the trenches". (I had to miss the game yesterday as I was coaching one of my boys' basketball games, but did watch on TV between).

Its a blast to watch these two dominate with elite effort and toughness, and you are spot on, its the epitome of MONTANA TOUGH.

WTF? I get some of the complaining during the year, but how does one watch THAT game, at ANY point, and make that text? We fucking dominated essentially from start to finish. Until garbage time they had exactly ONE sustained drive. We punted twice ALL DAY.

Total domination and they’re worried we aren’t good enough?

Its a sickness, my friend.

I love to isolate and watch him do his thing. He is a ferocious blocker. If I were an opponent I would always want to know where is is lining up. He brings a big body, skill, and technique like very few can deliver. He is a blocking machine.

He is such a force that defenses are starting to key on him. I loved the play where he lined up on the right and took off to the left side.......meanwhile Eli took the handoff and went to the right untouched until the second (or third) level.

Sammy Akem and I were laughing in the press box because you could see Shafer loading up! That would've been a bad day for No. 25 from South Dakota State haha. The administrator from the Missouri Valley was laughing too. "Yeah, 25 did not want any of that man coming at him" haha

Evan had some terrific sustained blocks on the edge, in connection with outs and bubble-like screens. Some of you probably already said that.
