ESPN's Mark May's resume?

Did Mark May play H.S. football, College football, or NFL? Just wondering. Reece Davis referred to May and Coach Holtz as his hall of fame panel. I didn't know if May has any credentials that got him to be a "college football expert" on ESPN. Was he a former athlete or rose up through the journalism ranks? At least Holtz has a long coaching career on his resume, even if some of the things he has said and done are a littel goofy. To me May comes across showing no respect to Lou, to non BCS conference teams. He is rude argumentative, and tiresome. But hey I guess he makes good TV.

In his day he was quite the player. He was an all american and 1st rd pick. He had an all pro NFL career too. I like Mark May as an analyst.

Thanks for the link..wow though he doesn't look like he was big enough to play guard in the NFL, but I guess that was awhile ago..plus it is hard to tell how big someone is on TV.

Sometime he just irritates me..but that may just be part of the act with him Lou and Rece.
