ESPN3 Solution for the Tech Savvy

Question for the board:

After reading this thread, I just downloaded the WatchESPN app for my Roku. Will that allow me to watch ESPN3 even if my cable/internet provider doesn't offer ESPN3? Or does it only work if my provider offers ESPN3?

Looking at the app, it looks like the latter, but it seems too good to be true.

Try watching a game. If you get any game, you will get the griz game.

By the way. If you do this and you have ad blocker plus, go here and check out what you can get for free.

AppleTV works great too. It has its own Watch ESPN app so you don't have to stream from a computer

Okay. Here is what you're looking for next week. IF you have a smart phone, download the watch espn app. Check to see if you can watch anything (ANYTHING) when on your home network. Next, if you have a smart TV, press the blue tooth button to stream your espn game to your tv. If you do not have a smart tv, get a (whatever your phones data port is) to HDMI connection to hook your tv to your phone. Best.

By the way, if there is interest, I will stream the game (if I can with my connection). I come first. But, if my bandwidth is adequate, I'll help you out. Just PM me.

For a lot of us in MT the ESPN app doesn't work... which is why I used ChromeCast. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

The app won't work on an iPad or an iPhone or an iPod but the AppleTV watch ESPN app works like the website on a computer and allows you to get some of the games

Frankly, if you own anything from apple, you deserve what you get (or don't get). by the way, every time you swipe your finger, the image gets transmitted to the NSA. Best.
