Griz til I die

The broadcast team for this Saturday's game is Jay Alter and Rocky Boiman. This is the same crew that called the cat-Idaho game and the NDSU-SDSU game in October. This is their third FCS game of the season, so they should be well versed on the FCS playoff picture and all that. Jay Alter has never called a Griz game before and Rocky Boiman last called a Griz game in 2021 when we played at Eastern and he's called the cats last 2 games on ESPN2.

Couple of other interesting notes on the game. Griz-Davis is going head to head against The Holy War between #9 BYU (9-0) and Utah (4-4). Usually there is only one game broadcasted by ESPN in the late west coast window, but this week there's 2 so this is bound to hurt the ratings, especially when it's a rivalry game. Perhaps Utah being so shitty this year may help, but it's been a while since the last Holy War game so maybe not.

Griz-Davis will follow Arizona State-UCF on ESPN2. That game starts at 5pm. The Sun Devils are the home team and are having a pretty good season, while UCF has been struggling a bit, so hopefully ASU can put it on them and the second half goes quick.

The LDS championship will hurt our ratings--we'll have plenty of Montana eyeballs watching the game, so hopefully UCD has a huge following in Davis, Sacramento and the rest of Northern California. A one-sided BYU beat down may also help, but if that happens, a lot of LDS viewers will probably just turn off their TV's.
