Any chance ESPN brings Gameday to Missoula for the Brawl?

Looking at the schedule you have UW and Oregon State or UGA and Tennessee but that’s about it.

If things shake out as they should (I know one game at a time) but it would be #2 Montana (I think we jump Furman with Sac St win) and #5 Neighbors.

Would be a great showcase for the school, community and GRIZ football.

I think we could do better than a golfer for our guest picker.

Not gonna happen. Specific rankings may change, but too many top FBS games to pick from on that date, including:
Georgia - Tennessee
Washington - Oregon State
UCLA - USC
Kansas State - Kansas

If I had to guess, I'd go with UCLA-USC or Kansas State - Kansas.

Thanks for the cold water IDA! 😂😂😂😂

Just my 2cents but if they go FBS to me it’s UW and Beavis as USC and UCLA are not very good this year.

UGA and TENN is gonna be UGA beating the brakes off of the Vols.

Best game Iof the week will be in Missoula.

You mean Georgia’s only challenging game all season in which they lose to the Vols? ;-) (and then still make the playoff)

Digger,

I would be happy to see that but man UGA is tough. Haven’t seen Vols much but would love to UGA go down.

I’m over the whole game day thing.
Could care less if they ever show up.
They chose Bozeman used a total stranger to the rivalry as a guest picker. The GRIZ fans , university and Bsc campaigned several times to get them here and they have never chose Missoula.

Concur.

They’re going to Athens this week, really doubt they’d have Georgia a part of Gameday back to back weeks.

UW/Oregon state would likely be my pick since it’s in Corvallis.

I also think Kansas Kansas St is possible too….

BUT… the Big Sky social media team has been passively mentioning GameDay in their social media posts all season long, and they haven’t been to a FCS venue yet this year…

I’d say probably not, but not a zero percent chance.

- Highly unlikely they come to the Brawl again when they did so recently. They don't repeat visits to FCS schools often. Or ever?
- They've repeated visits to big name FBS schools I'm back to back weeks before so wouldn't be surprised to see them at UGA games two weeks in a row. Historic win streak and all.
- UW vs OSU is a great storyline for them to follow, especially since it's in Corvallis, with UW moving on to the B1G and OSU making their case for why they belong even though at the moment they're left in the cold.

Thats not really true. They went to Fargo two years in a row (13/14), and have been to James Madison twice (15/17). They are in Athens, GA this week and the likely option for the following week would be in Knoxville the following week when the Vols play Georgia. The other option, as stated above might be UW/OSU, but I doubt it as they have already had UW on once this year and the Beavs arent really a compelling draw

Its really not that far fetched for them to come to Missoula, considering the highly ranked matchup and the lack of really compelling matchups at the FBS level.

Not happening. Two years ago they at least were looking into hotels a few weeks before. And even then it didn’t happen because of logistics. ESPN hasn’t reached out to any hotel this year.

I said they don't repeat FCS visits often, then asked if they ever have. Thanks for the reminder on the couple times they have. Nonetheless I'd say it's extremely far fetched that they come to Missoula. Would be happy to be wrong.

Never really gave a damn if Game Day would visit Missoula. It would be nice and someday they probably will. Yet Wa/Griz and Montana have the best FCS game day experience and backdrop regardless of if ESPN features it or not.

Now, the only reason I’d like them to come for cat/Griz is to show the nation Montana isn’t the frozen Artic outpost that Bozeman was last year. The ESPN hosts left there with frostbite. Not a good look for recruiting.
Go Griz

I think they will come one day. Most of the reason they went to bozeman last season was the social media avalanche that occured the season prior. "Montana" was already on someone's mind. And yes, I know Im playing fast and loose with the gallatin being actually a part of Montana these days.

The lynchpin for the decision two seasons back was the location of the game Herbie was calling. And this has been the case since he started calling the ESPN "game of the week". Had they been doing the game in Utah that night, I think they could have figured out accommodations for the gameday cast and crew in the area. As it turned out, the game they sentenced Herbie to was a noon start in Columbus, which turned into a blowout, meaning they held gameday there, so herbie could just make the trip up the stairs to the booth.

They don’t care about the actual game when they do fcs. They don’t even air it.

They would surely take a UGA or Washington both on the verge of a potential conference championship. The Big Sky getting college game day is a rare opportunity.

And as dumb as it it the hype around Bozeman really drove it. And I don’t mean the school or football program. The emergence of Yellowstone and a bunch of celebrities moving into the area is the true reason why gameday came there. Bozeman is a “in vogue” city in America right now. I would bet money that multiple espn and Disney executives have properties in the area.

It’s just a shame that with the one shot they had they chose to not wait a year to showcase the game in Missoula and the absolute premier venue and atmosphere for this level of football. They had the opportunity to show the country the absolute best atmosphere and venue this level has to offer. Bozeman atmosphere is also really good for this level. But they didn’t show the best.

Maybe some day

My bet is Georgia/Tennessee. When Tennessee wins this weekend I’d guess they’ll both be inside the top 10.

Other likely candidates are Kansas/Kansas State, UW/Oregon State, and interestingly enough UNLV (8-2) vs Air Force (8-1) (and yes, I’m making that one up, but you never know with these guys).

My guess is they head to Rocky Top. That’s been their MO for a long time.

It ain't going to Georgia @ Tennessee. If Washington finishes off Utah, and Oregon State wins, I'd guess they'll go there, but wouldn't be surprised if they end up in Missoula.
