Preseason Giant Killers: Four teams that could cause trouble in March

Ask Michigan about Montana. Before the Wolverines could play Villanova for the national title, John Beilein's guys had to get past the Grizzlies in the round of 64. On paper it was a ho-hum 61-47 win for Michigan, but that was only after Montana had sprinted out to a 10-0 lead and kept the game close all the way to halftime.

Travis DeCuire returns four starters from that team: Ahmaad Rorie (an Oregon transfer), Bobby Morehead, Michael Oguine and Jamar Akoh. Sayeed Pridgett and Timmy Falls are also back, giving the Grizzlies six of the seven players who logged minutes in last year's tournament. Lastly, DeCuire has added Donaven Dorsey, a transfer from Washington. Montana is the rare mid-major that both crashes the offensive glass and forces turnovers -- the West Virginia of the Big Sky, if you will. It worked last season, and the Grizzlies have the pieces to reprise that performance in 2018-19.

The other 3 teams are...

Loyola-Chicago
Cal-Irvine
South Dakota State

There is a big difference between a Junior and a Senior. This team will be Senior ladened with quality depth behind it. If they stay healthy and have a little luck Griz nation will have a lot to cheer for come spring.
