After decades of expecting to be a highly regarded team in the polls the Griz find themselves ranked outside the top 25 and below teams with worse records. Will two more wins get us a bit more respect? Will a lower ranking affect if/where we get into the playoffs this year?

What rank in the FCS polls will the Griz reach at the end of this season? Assuming that we win the last two games.

Probably outside looking in. Mvfc will take up ten spots alone! Four other spots to BSC teams.
With one more quality loss MSU is looking to be a solid #18 in the polls. Another 8 spots for CAA teams and I just don't see room for Griz this year!

Honestly, anything higher than 16 is impossible come the end of the regular season. I chose 21-25. If the GRIZ finish the season strong with impressive wins, I honestly believe this team is capable of making a little playoff run. So much is depending on the defense and a healthy Gresch Jensen.

It's tough to move up when you only have two opponents left and both have losing records.

Yeah, is this for end of reg. season, or end of season?

End of reg., we probably won't be higher than 22 or so in the Stats poll, but if we win out and get a favorable draw in the playoffs, I could see us get up into the 16-20 range by year's end. I don't expect this team to go super far, especially on the road, but you never know.

Then I definitely don't see us higher than 20, unless a shit ton of teams just start tanking haha

The polls are rather predictable and we are starting in a hole. So I took 25-21.

Two wins bring the Griz to 8-3. That should put their record among the top 20 or so nationwide. However, the Grizzlies also need several teams above them to stumble to create the space for them to move into. Traditionally a MVFC team with one or two more losses will often be ranked higher than a Big Sky team. So even if an 8-3 record put Montana into the top 15 records they will not be ranked in the top 15.

A higher poll ranking is nice in creating more exposure for a team. Though keep in mind the playoff selection committee is not using the polls to determine either seeding or at large selections. Our guys just need to focus on No. Colorado & the cats and collect two more wins. Then we hope many of the other 'bubble' teams drop games these next two weeks. Go Griz!

If the Griz win the next 2, I think a ranking of #17. Many teams in front of UM play each other the final two weeks.

I voted for 16-20, for this exact reason. If the Griz win out, their poll position should be aided by other ranked teams playing each other.
