Emotional Day

Sorry for the walk down memory lane this morning...but after yesterday's game my mind wondered back to 1975 when I was a college senior and the trip a buddy and I made over to Pullman in my 1966 Chevelle Malibu Convertable. (Wish I still had that car!) The Griz beat an overconfident Utah State team that day and then went on to lose to Wooden's last National Championship team in Portland. Little did I know it would take 31 years to repeat what happened that day in Pullman, and I got to live to see history repeat itself. As a school we need to get out of the 19th century and give Larry a three year contract and give him and his assistants a raise. We need to make sure it's not another 31 years before we win again in the NCAA Tournament! (Hopefully Saturday). One final thought...I really object to the national media calling us "tiny Montana". We may be a lot of things but "tiny" is not one of them...

Great story! BTW, get used to the tiny thing. On the nat'l b-ball scene, we are about as tiny as they come. But that can all change....

Oh. I thought the tiny thing was in reference to the reputation of the b-ball program. But I could be wrong, I guess. Tiny Connecticut plays today, right?

I have no idea what they're referring to. Most people East of the Mississippi probably have no idea that we're out here. School size, yeah, we're tiny.. smaller than the Mountain West and WAC schools.. state size, we kick your ass.

Yes, you do! Montana could kick so many state's asses in a square miles within borders contest. I think there is one coming up in 2008. I don't think MT can win, but they do have a propensity for upsets....

go griz :thumb:

You might have lost the battle today against BC, but you will still win the war in actual state size. Way to go Montana.
Let's just hope that Texas, or even worse Alaska, don't have any beefs with your state cuz you'll go down.
