Embarrassment to the Rivalry

We went to the natty when the Griz played the Bison. My wife is a Griz. A drunk NDSU fan blocked her from using the port a potty so another Bison could go in front of her. She was there first. I was not with her at the time but other than that everyone got along ok. I was ticked and asked her to take me back to the area so I could possible find the guy who put his hand on my wife. She was adamantly against me seeking revenge and wouldn't agree to it. Good thing for me as I would have probably overreacted. I heard lots of people had some poor interactions with the dakota fans but I heard more positive than negative. The incident yesterday and the this one in Frisco are the only two negative sportsmanship I've encountered personally since graduating in "89 from MSU. I've walked into Stockman's many times over the years after games and got friendly ribbing and jokes only. Maybe because we lost each one in those days....
Maybe?

You guys are soft as shit. I got flipped off all game, your “DJ” sprayed me and other cats fans with his dry ice gun, and got a lot of shit talk. I don’t care because it’s a rivalry. Who gives a fuck what a 19 year old did when he won the biggest game he has ever played in. I watched Taco and co run over to the student section and mock them while ur students threw multiple things at them. WHO CARES its a damn rivalry, keep it fun.
That shit is what you call “fun.” Gotcha

I have a group of friends and about half are Griz guys, half are Cats. We all have fun with the rivalry and don't really get out of control. But some of the extended network beyond the core guys do get crazy. I can tell you without hesitation that it's the Cat fans who are the worst, by far. There really is something to be said about a fan base and a team culture that includes taking swipes at their rival during games against unrelated teams, chanting at weddings, taunting fans as players after games. Sorry, Cat fans, that is the reality. To call us a bunch of Karens when we call it out says more about you and your team than us. It goes way beyond a fun rivalry.

Agree, and we've lost civility in most aspects of conversation & society. But why is it that this discussion originates from the losing side? Cats too. It's a step short of making excuses for the loss. We lost because....fill in the blank. The Griz lost because the Cats were better yesterday. I like Benjamin Franklin. He said "He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else"
“That’s why I’m here today on my rivals board catsplaining this to you guys.”

Behaving like an ass, win or lose, is never acceptable!

So explaining it, is justifying it?

Where do you draw the line?

Are you o.k. with anybody at any sporting event berating anybody they feel like they want.like coaches, refs, for example.

Just because you buy a ticket to attend an event doesn't give you an automatic pass to be a comple ass.

It really shouldn't be that hard to be a respectful person.
Tell that to the cats players and Eiden in particular

When people have been jerks to or around me, I have enjoyed running across them later in life and mentioning that I remember when they were a jerk. I've had some people/jerks interview with me for various things and even positions, and have enjoyed smiling at them and saying nope. This kind of unnecessary behavior taints the program, reflects poorly on the Cat players in general, and causes some of us to not think positive things about the Cat players. What goes around comes around.

Fans doing this is one thing, but players? Hauck wouldn't allow it, I wouldn't think.

I understand that emotions run high before, during and after this game. Fans on both sides are guilty of over-the-top behavior. But I want to describe the actions of three Bobcat players after the game.

As time ran out and the rest of their team was running toward the Great Divide Trophy, three Bobcat players ran to the Northeast side of the stadium and started taunting the fans. This went on for at least two minutes. At which point, they started heading back to join their teammates, but then couldn't help themselves and came back again. They continued jeering and then #0 started simulating that he was jerking off. At this point, fans in the stadium unfortunately started throwing water bottles toward the players and one of the Griz assistant coaches shoved one of the Cat players trying to get them to head back with their team. Finally, a Bobcat assistant coach came over and herded the players away.

This kind of behavior not only reflects poorly on the Bobcat football team and Montana State University, but the entire Rivalry. Unsportsmanlike conduct on full display. I can only hope that in the past and next time the Griz win in Bobcat Stadium our players have more class than that.
Name them. They have jerseys on, name them. Publicly shame them. Send your information to the BSC Office, the MSU Athletic Office, and MSU Presidents Office.

The chip on the shoulder from the streak is now part of their culture.

That streak ruined what used to be a damn fun party weekend.

There were always a few idiots that could find each other and fight it out.

The proportion of idiots on both sides has grown greatly as their entire sense of self esteem and social capital are defined by one afternoon in November.

Hauck has led a FTC chant on the field.

Nothing says tough like Taco going up to the student section with an officer on his side and yelling at the students knowing full well they can’t come down or do anything in retort. Only time I’ve seen the highway patrol officer usher a player back to his team because he knew tacos mouth was writing checks his body was going to have to cash if shit went sideways.
