Embarrassment to the Rivalry

Indoor Practice facilities does go to the cats. I have been inside both and the win on that one.
I think this comes down to personal preference. I prefer a indoor facility with a full length football field that can also be an indoor soccer facility for indoor soccer practices and games with a structure that can come down in the summer rather than a mini-me indoor facility that is up all the time.

Since when has a loss to the scats been acceptable? I'm flummoxed that the younger generation of Griz fans have come to accept this. Maybe it was the down years from 2011 to 2019 that changed your perspective. We should never accept losing to the scats....EVER!! I don't care if we are 11-1 and #2 seed in the playoffs. If we lose to the scats, it is unacceptable.
Point out where I said it was acceptable to lose to the cats.

My point is that the cats now overshadow everything about our success, no matter how good it is, because they have more of it. That kind of sounds like a familial term people throw around in the rivalry a lot, but I know it's a sensitive topic. lol

Old Griz fans used to make fun of the cats claiming that they only cared about the rivalry game and nothing else.

Seems like times have indeed changed.

Did someone say it was acceptable?

I can see your point on full length field. The cats facility could easily have a full length field. They put a track around it though, not just sprint lanes.

As far as removing the bubble during the summer months I had not heard that was the plan every year.

From my perspective I thought that they utilized the space better for an indoor space.

I think overall the Griz facilities are superior.

What I think and what most fans think really does not matter. What recruits and players think of facilities is what matters.

My two cents worth. This rivalry is the 7th most contested rivalry between two teams in the same state.
Lehigh vs Lafayette - 161
Richmond vs William & Mary - 136
Oregon vs Oregon State - 129
Cincinnati vs Miami (OH) - 128
California vs Stanford- 128
Indiana vs Purdue - 126
Montana vs Montana State -124

in my short lifetime of 80 years I have seen the rivalry between both teams grow stronger.

The rivalry has always been a battle, but it was civil after the game. During the later years of the streak of the last part of the 20th century it became a little more common to see the animosity between fan bases.

Since the turn of this century the record is Griz 13 and the cats 12. Many times the Brawl has been a deciding game for the conference champion during this period.

Good, bad or otherwise the animosity between the fan bases has become more intense.

Both sides have displayed awful behavior towards the other many times.

While those displays are subjective, I believe that the cat fans have been on the losing side of the spectrum. I believe it is a byproduct of the streak.

Griz fans, don’t beat the drums to loudly as there are many that have taken it way too far as well.

I will end with this statement, regardless of how ugly each side of this rivalry has been, I think it pales in comparison to Ohio State vs Michigan.

I had the opportunity to attend that game many years ago, that was true hate.
The GAME is just that, a game. Does anybody give a flying 'F' about the intra-state soccer game, tennis matches, or, to a lesser extent the outcome of the basketball games. No. At least, I don't.
After graduation, I never really cared about the Griz-scat game. Don't recall watching it, or listening to it on the radio. What got my attention was the reaction from scat grads when they found out I was a Griz fan. JFC!, you'd think I had kicked their dog, burned their house down, or married their sisters. I couldn't understand it. I began to notice they shut the hell up during 'The Streak,' only to reappear after the 2002 game. Its PTSD or TDS in spades. I'd need a DSM-V, and a Psych pro to guide me through it, to begin to be able to put a correct label on it. They are a generation or two of truly fucked up people. Do I react to their acting out? You're goddamned right I do! But, subtly. I'm a sneaky, vindictive bastard. But, I get my pound of flesh.

Yes.

Hoops is totally fine with losing to the Cats and not winning the conference. Bobby 2.0 standard is lose to the rivals not win the conference and never win the Natty. Its okay lil bro.
Monday morning at a water cooler in Clowntown.

Coworker: Oh, hi Jeffrey. How was your 4 day vacation?

Jeffrey: It was mad lit! I spent all 4 days at home alone on my football rival’s board talking smank. It was no cap slay! Are you going to finish that donut you are holding? It looks bussin.

Coworker: Yes, Jeffrey. I am.

Griz aren’t physically outmatched in the trenches this year.
You might have a different opinion if you rewatch even just the cat game’s final drive when they knew runs were coming but could not stop it. After watching a number of SDSU games next weekend it will also be apparent sadly. Chances of getting to see MSU do it again this year are not good with the playoff seeding as SDSU is not the quality a #14 seed with their QB healthy and sounds like stud LB should also be ready to play. Cat loss will haunt the Griz. Instead of playing SDSU they could have had Yale, and a Big Sky Championship and The Great Divide trophy on display….

I've seen several people today insist that we could've avoided SDSU if we had won the Brawl, as if the committee (that said whoever won the Brawl would be #2 and whoever lost would be #3) wouldn't have just switched SDSU to 15 to avoid sending them back to Bozeman. They absolutely mess with the seedings to get/avoid certain matchups in the 2nd round. We were probably always going to play SDSU, even if we won the Brawl. Thankfully that didn't happen because I'm sure people would be even more pissed about it as the #2 seed.

You don't judge line play by one drive. Yes, great and long drive. In virtually every game, both teams have one or more long or good drives. That doesn't decide anything. Jeez, look at the whole game.

You might do well to look at the big picture, look closely at the stats I've provided twice, talk to some coaches and talk to some players.

Yes, UM made life tougher for them by not beating the Cats. That happens. Now they have to get it tougher and get back to winning one game at time.

Nothing says tough like Taco going up to the student section with an officer on his side and yelling at the students knowing full well they can’t come down or do anything in retort. Only time I’ve seen the highway patrol officer usher a player back to his team because he knew tacos mouth was writing checks his body was going to have to cash if shit went sideways.
Everyone not know Taco's fiance is a griz? Gilman set them up. So he was probably over there shouting i love you's to her.
