Eli Gillman on why he stayed

He will definitely be drafted if healthy. Not true on what you said about other FBS teams and their RB’s. A year ago when he wasn’t even in Portal, he was being offered $750,000 by playoff teams, including SEC and B10.
Really find that hard to believe. If that was the case, he ought to have taken them up on that type of an offer. Lot's of possibilities, but reality is a different thing. What a crazy world we are in, if that was even remotely true or was on the table.
I can't even imagine being a big time past player from a few recent years back that may have just missed this era of insane financial offers and promises. They must be just sick to their stomachs about all the money. . .or idea of money. . .that is being tossed around these days. . .even at the FCS level.

Exactly. There was a short piece on the March Madness coverage about Kevin Pittsnogle who had a great run with West Virginia 20 or so years ago. There were posters of being “Pittsnogled” all over the crowd. And he made reference in recent interview to the NIL money he could have made. He is the only one in his family to graduate college. Now he’s a middle school principal and very content. 6’9 middle school principal is already a win for entire staff.
