FWIW - Last night Baldwin said he isn't going to state who's playing at QB for EWU this week so the Griz have to prepare for both Qb's.

If the Griz don't open up the play book and play to their strengths they will lose this Saturday. They have to let Simis or Gus sling the ball around to our receivers. THAT IS THE STRENGTH OF THE OFFENSE! You can't run zone read every fricken time behind this offensive line. When you get inside the 5 yard line RUN A DIVE PLAY FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! Going for it on 4th down at mid field with this offense is just plain beetle headed by Coach Stitt. Play to your strengths i.e. the receivers and defense don't play to your weaknesses i.e. run game and the offense. Punt the fricken ball and get field position!

After the griz beat NDSU I marked this game on the calendar for the BSC championship. Now both fan bases are agonizing over their respective teams' performance. I follow the Eagles closely and always like to think I have a pretty good idea of what to expect but I don't know if we'll score 50 or get blanked. Likewise, I don't know what the griz will do even against our shutdown defense. This one is a mystery but sad that there is a real chance that both UM and EWU will miss the playoffs. I'm sure someone is a better Big Sky historian than I so when was the last time that happened? Still expecting an electric atmosphere like all Eag/griz games. Speaking for myself, I've had enough of squeaking by or losing to traditional Big Sky doormats. Weber State? You guys lost to them and our victory was wind aided (we got lucky big time in that one). Then we got spanked last week and you guys got lucky. Something is seriously wrong in the world right now.

Turnovers win this game...In the 78 games the Eagles have played since 2010 they have lost the turnover battle in 28 of those games, the record in those 28 games is 13 w- 15l .
There were 18 games where the turnover battle was even, the Eagles hold a 14-4 record in those games.

Correction: EWU "won" the BSC that year by tying with Idaho, but losing the regular season HTH matchup with Idaho. Feel free to count that as a championship a la MSU.

Did you watch Saturday's game? There was only ONE time in that game where he went for it at midfield. He punted from the 47, 29, 18, 37 and 36 yard lines. He went for it once, at the Idaho State 44. That's yet another part of his offensive philosophy that has gone out the window, despite everyone insisting he's "inflexible" and unwilling to adjust.

Yes, I watched the game! The ONE time coach Stitt went for it on 4th down they had a two score lead. Those kinds of stupid moves cost you games and Stitt looked like a moron after that play. It is NEVER a good idea to go for it on 4th down with a two score lead and a good defense like the Grizzlies have.

Really? He converts that and goes down and puts points on the board to put the game away and you're hailing him as a hero. Guaranteed. :roll: :roll:

I am not sure that is a strength for Simis....

The running game is not a strength. I'd take my chances throwing the football (especially on EWU and MSU) as opposed to running it into the brick wall for 4 quarters.
