Eastern and SHSU to open the season?

GE, you completely missed my point and obviously didn't read either. First, I complimented the Eags on their team. I called them a great team. Second, I never ONCE brought up Montana's fan base, as a comparison or to brag. There was NO mention of the Griz in my post whatsover. I simply said EWU does NOT sell out (fans in the seats) their 10,000 seat stadium. I've seen enough games there to be positive of that. The last time there was an overflowing sellout was the 2012 Griz game there. Point being, I don't see things being any different when they play Sam Houston next fall.

At least Marceag has the nads to admit that the EWU fanbase isn't what it should be for a team of your caliber. The Eags aren't good, they are GREAT right now, and yet, they deserve better from the fanbase.

Hav is right on this, the Eags do have a great team but we fall short on support. Attendance is growing and we sold out most of our regular season home games but both semifinals on espn the last two years were far short of a sellout.

Regardless, I hope this works out in August, it would be great for ewu, the big sky, and the fcs.

Looking forward to seeing the Griz in Cheney next year, both teams should be really good and it's always a great game.

I agree it's a great matchup, just think that very few people outside of those few who care about EWU or SHSU football will actually give a shit and actually watch.
 
I agree with many Griz fans stating that NDSU vs Montana would have drawn a bigger crowd. EWU and SHSU have a much smaller fan base and cannot hope to compete for a draw in views like NDSU vs Montana would. However, I would just like to point out that it won't have as grim an amount of viewers as many fans are predicting.

Just remember, small fanbase or not, EWU and SHSU are currently big names in FCS football. Anyone who is a fan of the FCS will tune into the game. This will certainly boost viewers significantly.
 
Any college football fan who isn't out on summer vacation would be a potential viewer with nothing else to watch on August 23rd. Go for it.
